charlie's first shower

kelly, naomi, and andrea threw me a brunch shower today. it was nice to have a small group so we could all talk to eachother. jack and clara got to play together and magnolia got to sit back and watch. jack and clara played SO well together right when she got here. it was really adorable, but then jack got his feelings hurt when he couldn't get a toy away from her :) and then he pouted for a bit. he was fine though. he just sat back and watched a show while clara got to play with toys (both kids were happy). he got over it pretty quick though.

kelly gave me a sweet little outfit, blanket, and hat

naomi and magnolia gave me a cute outfit and baby food (that jack wanted!)

andrea and clara gave me a gift card to do it yourself crafts to make fingerprint necklaces with the boys!!

as you can see by the next picture jack got over being mad pretty quick...

(when i told jack that clara was coming over he got really excited and said "i love her"...so sweet)

first zoo storytime of the summer

we went to the zoo for storytime with eli yesterday morning. the boys had a great time! jack loves to copy everything that eli does...it is really cute! they listened to the book really well and did the craft after. i took jack every friday to storytime last summer. he loved it then and i know that he will love it even more this summer...although i'm not sure how much longer i can stand the heat at the zoo :)

then we went to the splash pad to let them play in the water. jack had a lot of fun! eli didn't really like the water and he basically just ran around the water. maybe he will start copying everything jack does and get in with him. pretty soon i will be sitting in the water with them!!! haha...how funny would that look?!?

31 weeks

31 weeks
16 inches long
he weighs about 3.3 pounds (4 navel oranges)
charlie still kicks around a lot...my whole stomach will shift at once...it is crazy! he does kick right before bed but then quickly lets me go to sleep...i hope it stays like that once he is here!
i have nothing to complain about really. this pregnancy (along with jack's) has been great! i love getting to eat a lot and not feel too guilty about it. my only complaints have been the only ones for a while...1) my hips while i am sleeping 2) i feel fat (like my face and butt) and 3) i get hot

here's charlie's coming home outfit...

i can't believe he will fit into these...

here is a sneak peak at his bedding...
we were just going to use jack's bedding and i had come to terms with it. then when we got to columbus my mom said that she wanted to buy charlie new bedding. so i let her. we went shopping at a nice baby store in columbus and saw some really nice (expensive) bedding. then we kind decided on getting just a new baby blue minky dot ( i think that is what it is called) bumper pad and then just use his crib skirt and other things. i thought it sounded great. then we stopped by the consignment store and found this set for $40!!! so we decided to go for it. this means that we have to paint his room now. so mom and dad are coming one weekend to paint and get his room ready with us! thanks mom and dad!!

atlanta family vacation

(get ready for picture overload)

monday morning we drove to atlanta from covington. we went to ikea to do some shopping and get lunch. we got a new toy shelf for jack's room and some little stuff for charlie's room. i love ikea and could spend all day in that store! then we went to check into our hotel room (we did priceline and got a residence inn in buckhead for $60 a night!!!)

monday night we went to the varsity for dinner. i have never been there before. it was yummy but i like dinglewood much more!

a theater named tara!!

the aquarium:
tuesday morning we woke up and got breakfast at our hotel (which jack didn't eat a bite of...he hardly ate anything on this trip besides snacks). then we were off to the aquarium. jack loved it! first we went and saw the shark whale feeding and then we went to a 3D movie called deepo which was a total knock off of nemo. jack was so funny because he would jump everytime a fish became 3D. he started out in his own chair but quickly ended up in my lap. he held onto my arms so tight and shook when the water squirted us. after it was over he said he wanted to see it again :) so i guess he wasn't that scared!
then we just took our time walking around the aquarium. we ate a very expensive not so good lunch!! and then it was off to see more fish. when we were done we went to the gift shop and picked out jack and charlie a gift and went outside. when we were leaving the shop jack saw something that he wanted more than what we got him but we didn't give him a choice...needless to say he was super upset and so was i. so i went back in and exchanged what we picked out for what he really wanted. he is 2.5 now and knows what he wants. he was VERY happy with his dolphin!
then it was nap time.
then we went to the flying biscuit for dinner. johnny and i have been there for breakfast twice but never for dinner. kids eat free so we thought we would try it out. i got the turkey pot roast that was soooo good. johnny got shrimp and grits and jack got a cheese quesadilla. jack didn't touch a bite of his dinner because he ate the whole biscuit before dinner (with ketchup).

i love this picture

jack loved the slide

deepo

as you can tell jack does not know about personal space! he introduced himself to all kinds of little kids this week and adults.

jack loved the touch screen that told you about the fish

playing trains in our hotel

this is a terrible pic but look how big my belly looks!!

this is what jack got from the aquarium. it is like his penguin from the chattanooga aquarium (burt the bird).

botanical gardens:
wednesday went to the botanical gardens after having a relaxing morning in our hotel room. it was really pretty and a lot bigger than our gardens. jack didn't touch his lunch again. when we were leaving he had a complete melt down because he was so tired...he did a lot of walking. when we got to the car to change his diaper he pretty much fell asleep as we were changing him.

the canopy walk

jack loved the echo in the tunnel

31 weeks

it was a great family vacation. jack slept GREAT! we got a blow up travel bed for him at a yard sake and it worked out great. he took naps everyday and slept through out the night. we would turn off all the lights and once he was asleep we turned on the tv and it didn't wake him up. he woke up quietly like he does at home and waited for us to pick him up. my only complaint about this week was him not eating, but he has already made up for it last night and today!!

it was super cold! i had no idea that it was going to be chilly. all i packed us was shorts and tshirts. my mom let me borrow a little jacket and we went to old navy and bought jack a $5 jacket. poor johnny had nothing! he didn't complain at all though. so we didn't get to play in the fountains at centennial park or ride the open air train at stone mountain or swim in our pool, but that's ok.
