happy birthday house!

we celebrated house's birthday on friday night and jack wore a special shirt in honor of house!!

auburn vs ball state

jack loves to play tug o war with pete and then when he gets the toy he likes to make this noise right at pete like "haha i won!"

about to leave for the game

my mom got free tickets from one of basset and becker's clients for the ball state game and of course me johnny jumped on the chance to go to a game. we have not been in like 5 years. we had sooo much fun going to auburn and walking around and talking about old memories. we love auburn!! this is a picture of my favorite part of the game...when the band comes out at the very beginning and plays the fight song! oh it is great. i used to get to the game early and get seats with molly behind the band because we loved watching the tuba players. anyway, so when the band comes out the main guy(i don't know what he is called..i think the drum major) runs while leaning backward..almost like he is going to fall backward...it is very impressive and i LOVE it! this all happens right after the eagle flies (which is another one of my favorite parts about the game). johnny doesn't really remeber all of this in college because he didn't get there until the game had already started...lame! anyway, we had so much fun even though we got rained on the entire time we were there. my mom and dad had a blast with jack and i am sure that jack had a blast with them too!!

me and johnny at the rainy ball state game. rain or shine it was still a blast!

jack had a lot of new toys to play with at mimi and papa's house...including this fun toy from his aunt martha! he really enjoyed dancing to it. you can kind of tell that he is dancing in this picture because his knees are bent...he just does the squat dance right now.

another fun toy at mimi and papa's...jack wanted to sit in it or stand in it for some reason :)

when my mom and i came back from printing out jack's invitations we found jack asleep with his daddy! they were watching finding nemo :)

11 months old

i can't believe that jack is 11 months old (as of yesterday)!! he is growing up way too fast...in a month he will be ONE!! crazy!
at 11 months he:
* is walking...pretty much all the time
* has 3 teeth
* makes everybody smile with his smile
* pretends to talk on the phone with anything (there is a picture of this below)
* weighs about 21 and 1/2 pounds
* still does not want to eat real solid food
* does not nurse to sleep anymore :)
* does not show signs of wanting to stop nursing
he is one of the happiest babies i have ever seen and i love him to pieces!

see his teeth?

hello

we took a family trip to the zoo the other day and had a blast!! we rode the train for the first time and jack seemed to really like it. he loved the wind blowing in his face.

johnny finally got to see jack play in the water fountain. jack had so much fun now that he can walk around and splash in the water.

on the way home

johnny took his last step!! yay! step 3 is over :)

pete thinks he is the king of the house

i let jack feed himself with a spoon the other day. he had fun getting messy...he is such a boy!

he did pretty well getting the spoon into his mouth

i caught him with a pink oven mitt on :)

we are finished with our renovations (except for a few little things...we still need to paint our kitchen, put our thresholds into the kitchen, and add some trim). we love everything that we have done and thank my daddy very much for all of his hard work!!

top teeth!

jack watched his first auburn game on saturday! he didn't get to see them win because he had to go to bed, but he did get to hear me singing the cheers and johnny screaming at the tv (probably words that he shouldn't hear!!)

jack has 2 top teeth. they are so stinkin cute, but they hurt when they chomp down on me! luckily he understands "no bite".

so cute!

jack is doing really well these days. he is walking so much better and loves to play really hard! the only thing that we are struggling with lately is real solid food. i was really scared to give it to him so either i waited too long or he is just not interested, but either way he will NOT eat the solids. we have tried the gerber puffs, cooked carrots, and cooked sweet potato. if anybody has any thoughts on how to get jack interested please let me know. he has to start eating the food so that he can eat his birthday cake!!

callaway gardens

we had a great time at callaway gardens! jack did wonderful and i think really enjoyed everything we did. we went on a bike ride both days we were there. jack kept his helmet on and loved the ride. he would kick johnny's back and laugh. the bike ride was probably one of our favorite things we did. i don't think that i stopped smiling on the rides :)

we went to the butterfly center after our first bike ride. i think jack thought that the butterflies were really pretty. one landed on johnny's head and one landed on my leg...it freaked me out for some reason. i could feel it's tongue licking the sweat off my leg and it really grossed me out so i screamed and the lady next to us laughed at me :)

we went to a restaurant called the country kitchen. it was really yummy...the biscuits with muscadine preserves were our favorite part.

the next day we started off the day by going to the vegetable garden. it was really cool to see all the veggies up close. i think that this was my favorite garden. we saw corn, peppers, watermelon, sunflowers, muscadines, peach trees, tons of flowers and plants, a spider that looked like charlotte, grapes, and much more.

johnny using the analemmatic dial...it is a sundial that uses the months of the year and numbers to tell what time it is...it really worked!

me and jack in the corn
we tried to get a picture of jack's head next to the sunflowers because they were like twice the size of his head, but he was scared of them and started to cry!

i had never seen a watermelon growing before

this was in the horticulture center. it was really beautiful. this is a chenile plant native to new zealand. i am trying to get jack to take a bottle because for some reason he decided not to nurse on a very warm day. i was worried he was going to be dehydrated.

i just think that this picture is so cute

so pretty

feeding the fish...we thought that there were just a few fish in the pond but when i put the first bits of food in there they all came rushing over. it was crazy how many fish were in that pond. they responded really well to where i put the food.

my parents came over our last night there to babysit for us so that we could go on a date. jack had fun with mimi and papa and we had a great time at dinner. we went to the gardens restaurant. johnny got steak and i got trout. and we got banana cream pie for desert.

comparing shoes with papa :)

we came to columbus on the way to callaway for labor day. we had a lot of fun. jack swam in the pool, went on a wagon ride, went to the mall, and had fun exploring mimi and papa's house in a new way (now that he can crawl really well and walk some).
