9 months

jack is 9 months old as of 7-21-09!!
i can't believe that jack is 9 months already! it seems like just yesterday when he was a tiny baby that we were bringing home from the hospital. time flies when you are having fun!!!

he weighs 20 pounds 5 ounces (50th percentile)
he is 29 1/4 inches long (75th percentile)
his head circumference is 18 1/4 inches (75th percentile)

he had his doctor's appointment today and did great! it was my first time going by myself with jack. i was a little nervous, but i shouldn't have been because jack was awesome! he laid perfectly still on the table for the doctor to examine him and smiled when the doctor looked in his ear :) on the other hand he hated the shot that the nurse gave him. oh man, he cried so hard...it was so sad! but after i calmed him down he was back to happy smiling jack.

here are a few things about jack at 9 months old:
* he has a tooth!!it officially came in yesterday on his 9 month birthday!
* he says "dada", "hee" for pete, "blah blah blah", and this morning he said "mama"(not to me though...just at a toy)
* he points with his left hand and grabs with his right
* he "cruises" along the couch or whatever he can stand up by
* he has taken 2 steps...not at the same time
* he is eating 3 "solid" meals a day (he loves apples with chicken and carrots with bananas)
* loves to bang on things
* dances to music
*pulls our hair

* throws a ball for pete

* reaches out for us

*chews on anything and everything!

he is still our crazy man and also the sweetest, smartest baby in the world who we love to pieces and could just eat up!

this is just a random picture that i am proud of...i made jack some baby food. i made applesauce, sweet potatoes, zucchini, asparagus, and sweet peas! he has tried any of them yet because i made them before we left for the weekend. we will give them a shot this week maybe.

jack did so well today! he sat in the chair all by himself (it had a belt). he smiled and sat very quiet. he looked at himself in the mirror a lot and looked at the camera, my phone, and me being crazy! i am so glad that he is such a good and happy baby!!

jack got some shoes! they match an outfit of his and they were on sale so i couldn't resist! he really doesn't like to wear them...i think he is going to be like his papa (no shoes and loves his hammer). he looks down at his feet like what is on my feet?!?

jack LOVES to play with pete. pete will bring him a toy and jack will either play tug o war or he will throw a ball for him (with some help). he thinks that "hee" (pete) is the best thing ever and laughs at him all the time.

we went to the zoo with jack's girlfriend mckayla. we had a lot of fun. jack is getting better at staying in his stroller which is nice. he liked looking at the screech owl.

watching the girrafes and drinking water from a bottle for the first time. the girrafes were funny. there was a young one that was running and looked so graceful. it was beautiful.

jack's new highchair!!

we had dinner with emily and steven last night. it was nice to see them and visit. emily is 24 weeks pregnant and they are moving to brazil after the baby is born to be missionaries. so please pray for them!

we got jack a new toy today. it was our first time buying something off of craigslist. i love craigslist! we got him this table toy that he has already fallen in love with. i went on craigslist to look for a play yard for jack to play in instead of having a cooler and tubberware blocking him off from the rest of the room :) so if anybody notices somebody selling one on craigslist let me know!
jack loves to point with his left hand and grab with his right hand. he points all the time! my parents think that it is so funny!

he got this toy from mimi and pop to help him walk....why oh why?!? luckily he doesn't understand to walk behind it yet so he just likes to sit on it and hit it's nose to make it play music. that is something else that he has started lately....he knows that if he hits some part of a toy that it will play music or make a noise. he has a ball popper toy and he has finally figured out that if you hit the top it will pop the balls.

jack has also started to stick his tongue out all the time! it is so funny!! he likes to say "lalalala"

jack is standing really well these days. he has better balance and is sitting down from standing a whole lot better (thank goodness). he says "blah blah". he throws a ball for pete (with a little help). he took one step without holding onto anything the other day (7-3-09) but hasn't really done it since. so i think it was just an accident. he does "cruise" the furniture a ton now. and when i clap my hands together and hold out my arms to him he comes toward me...so cute! he is doing so much!!

jack loves beer bottles...it is not the beer that he likes because when johnny pours it in a glass he could care less, but when he sees that beer bottle it is like that is all that baby can think about!!!! it is too funny!

we got a cool whale pool from this store called aldi. it sprays water from the whale's blow hole!! it is awesome!

fourth of july!
my parents came to see us for the 4th this year. my mom wanted to see all the work that my dad did on the house. we aren't quite finished yet as you can tell by the background on the picture below. we still have to paint...which we are planning on doing this week. as soon as we have everything finished i will post pictures of our house.

my patriotic cake. we went over to house and kelly's this year for a party and had a blast. my parents got to see their house and meet some of their friends that will hopefully be our friends too!

jack was sound asleep and it was really hot outside. so my dad cooled off my mom and jack with a paper plate :)

flowers that we got from the farmer's market. we have a farmer's market every saturday. it is wonderful...lots of yummy veggies and fruits and pretty flowers! we even get to bring pete with us!!
