meeting clara and others and two months

we went over to robby and andrea's yesterday to let jack meet clara. they seemed to really like eachother. jack looked at clara and clara pointed and jack and stared at him. i think it was love at first sight!!! it was weird holding clara because her head is so steady. jack kicked clara in the face when they were playing and clara came back and bit him on the leg...it was so funny!!

2 months old!!!

some how this picture is out of order. oh well. here is clara pointing at jack. she really liked his feet when they first met.

thumbsucking, christmas bib, etc

here are just a few random pictures. jack is getting so big. he is really smiling at us now and lets us know when he is happy! he loves baths but we haven't got that on the camera yet. we will soon. he smiles the whole time and kicks his legs. he is just the best baby (in my opinion!!!)

sucking his thumb! he gets really frustrated when he can't find it

our friend sherie made this blanket for jack...it is incredible

jack with his christmas bib from my mom...which for the most part he gives me a silent night after like 11:00. he is sleeping from about 11:00 till about 6:00. it is very nice and then he goes back down till about 9:00. he is a good sleeper (as of right now)

sucking his thumb again

i love those thighs

he's not always a happy baby (he was very hungry)

my photo shoot with jack

i had a fun day with jack today! i set up a photo shoot area in our living room and took tons of pictures. he didn't seem to mind it too much. i also took jack out by myself for the first time today. he is heavy!! i am sure i looked pretty stupid trying to set up the stroller too, but oh well. i don't think i will be going too many places without johnny.

8 weeks old

jack is 8 weeks old today! he had his 2 month doctor's appointment today. he got 2 shots and a oral vaccine. he did really good. he was really sleepy and everytime he fell asleep somebody would come in the room to do something else to him. it made him very sad!!
he weighed 12 pounds 4 ounces
he was 23 1/4 inches long
our baby boy is getting so big! he slept through the whole night last night :) he slept from 11:45 till 7:45!!!!!! i made johnny get up to check on him at 7 when i woke up. i was a little scared to go in there. we couldn't believe that he slept that long. he has been going about 5 or 6 hours in a row and going back down for another 3 after eating. i guess he figured now that he is 8 weeks old he needs to sleep like a big boy :)

jack talking...not really!

this is a video of jack on his play mat when we got home. he was amazed by all the lights

this is a video of jack on our couch looking at the frames he loves

we're home!!

we are back from our 2 week adventure. we had fun but are really glad to be home! jack is glad too. he loves looking at all the things on our walls and all the stuff in his room. we have a set of frames behind our couch and he LOVES to lay there and look at them like they are the coolest thing in the world (who needs toys?!?). at mimi's house he loved to stare at himself in the mirror on the changing table. it was so cute...actually he loved to stare at me in the mirror while i was changing him :)
he is sleeping like 5 hours straight so that means about 6 hours between feedings at night. it is great!! he is slowly getting into a routine...he wakes up and goes to sleep pretty much at the same time all through out the day.
we have his 2 month appointment on the 16th. i am excited to see how much he has grown, but i am sad that he has to get all his shots...that will be a rough day!
we didn't get the picture of him on the bed in atlanta for the emory interview but we do have him in his bed. this is what jack slept in on our trip.

this is what we set up to feed jack in the car...very interesting!

our trip part 2

we are still on the road for johnny's interviews. we are ready to get back to mobile and try to get on a normal routine, but we are having fun looking at all the places we could end up living for the next 4 years. we liked UNC (chapel hill, nc) and MUSC (charleston, sc). we did not like MCG (augusta, ga). johnny was not impressed with the school. we will post more about each one later once we have made our list of pros and cons :)
jack is doing really well on this trip. he sleeps in the car and at restaurants. it is difficult feeding him sometimes. i had to breastfeed him in the car in downtown savannah and charleston (not very easy). all the hotels are very understanding and have been giving me a later checkout time so that i don't have to sit in the lobby and wait on johnny all day.
jack is really smiling at us now and is holding his head up a lot better. i will try to post videos later when i have more time.
jack's first time at a restaurant...we went to cracker barrel
