mr. potato head exhibit

jack met a friend. his grandparents were really sweet and played with jack.

we went to the new mr. potato head exhibit at the mcwane center saturday morning. johnny was on call so i decided that i would bring jack to get out of the house, but stay indoors since it was rainy. the new exhibit is cool and jack had a lot of fun!

of course jack loved the spoons. you made a bug out of different things. the spoons and other stuff were it's legs!

we met mr. potato head. jack did not want to sit alone of course! he did touch him though :)

riding on the astronaut chair

peek a boo

he figured out to put his hands in the gloves and try to pick up stuff....the gloves were too big

we went down to the bottom floor to see the fish. we hardly ever make it down there for some reason. he enjoyed it though.

jack would probably stay here all day if i would let him, but we had to get home to eat lunch

another place jack could be all day...watching the balls drop at the entrance (it's like that game mouse trap)

the best thing that jack did at the mcwane center to me was he gave a cow a high five. it was a man dressed in a cow costume for chick fil a. jack wouldn't get down but he did give him a high five and said "hey" to him about 5 million times!!

random events of last week

jack has made his ball pit into his stuffed animals house!

jack loves "nanas" now!!

we got the flashlight out and turned off all the lights and made shadow animals!

i hope this is the only time i see jack behind bars :)

he got his legos out the other day for the first time in weeks and made this!
(with a little help from momma)

jack sorted noodles the other day! he did so great! i was super impressed. i laid out the different noodles and then handed him one and said "where does this one go?" he was confused at first but it only took him a few tries to catch on. he sorted all of them by himself and i cheered for each noodle! that is what he is doing in the picture...cheering for himself for a job well done!

5th anniversary celebration

johnny got me beautiful flowers and i got him a sloss furnace bottle opener. we are also going to redo our wood floors that we found in all the bedrooms for our "wood" present to eachother. wood is the 5th anniversary present. we are also going to atlanta on june 11th and leaving jack with my parents for the weekend.

we went to eat at bottega saturday night to celebrate 5 amazing years being married! it was sooo yummy! we had great conversation and enjoyed eachother's company without our jack jack!
we got cheese ravioli for an appetizer that had crabmeat, lemon, spring onions, corn, and tobasco on top...divine! they also serve bread with the best olive oil i have ever had!! for dinner i got a pork chop that was grilled and cooked perfectly and johnny got venison (that in my opinion was way too raw) that he seemed to enjoy. for dessert we got strawberry cake (the best cake i have ever put in my mouth). it had strawberries inside the cake, inside the icing, and a strawberry sauce on the side.

happy 5 year anniversary!

5 years ago today i married my best friend! he is the love of my life and the best daddy and husband i could ever ask for. i am seriously the luckiest girl in the world!!

i love looking back at the wedding pictures and thinking about how great that day was. i wasn't nervous at all (i guess because i knew that God had made the right choice for me)! it was bright and sunny outside...not a cloud in the sky!
i had fun getting ready with all of my 10 bridesmaids (i am sure johnny had fun with his groomsmen)

and of course my mom!

mary held my dress when i went to use the bathroom right before the wedding :)

the wedding couldn't have gone any better! i loved every minute of it!!
from the moment my dad walked me down the aisle

to the moment that i got to kiss my husband!

we had a blast at the reception talking to all of our friends and family (even if it was so hot and my dress felt like it weighed 50 pounds and i had sweat dripping down my back) i wouldn't have it any other way. the tables were beautiful and the food i am sure was tasty.

the cakes were beautiful and yummy!

it was the perfect day!

johnny, i love you and can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you!

whitney and anthony's wedding

wearing daddy's shoes
we had a lot of fun in arkansas for the wedding weekend. we drove there (9 hours total, but we broke it up into 2 days by stopping in little rock and staying at lindsay's condo). we got to fayetteville on friday around 3:00 and got to visit with people at the hotel before the rehearsal dinner. we got dressed and then headed to the dinner. about 1 mile away from the rehearsal dinner jack got really fussy in the car and then threw up all over him, his carseat, and our car :( so we pulled over asap and got him out of the carseat and loved on him! we took turns cleaning up the mess and the we headed back to the hotel. luckily it was a one time thing!! maybe he was car sick...who knows!! poor baby was starving the next morning though because all we gave him for dinner was 1 cracker and some water! but because he was so hungry he actually tried a banana and like it!! but he hasn't tried one since! weird boy!
we went swimming the next morning and jack seemed to really like it. then we went to the wedding and it was beautiful!
that night at 6:00 we went over to joe and catherine's house for a spaghetti dinner. it was lots of fun and jack loved the dogs and the meatballs!
then we left the next day to start our tip back to little rock and then back to birmingham the next morning. it was a fast fun trip!

jack was apparently really thirsty and wanted to drink the punch the whole time

the memphis zoo was absolutely amazing! it was mostly all open air (except for the animals of the night room, the snake room, the bird room, pandas, and maybe a bit more)
the "cat" area had trenches and bars , but it felt like they were right there at us. it was so cool!

exploring the cave with daddy

look how the cheetah is sleeping (it's legs are straddling the log)

the tigers. their area was so nice!! they had lots of room and water to play in and a waterfall!!

hippos!! they were right there at us. i could probably touch them if i wanted to.
