HANSON

we had so much fun at the hanson concert last night. johnny was a trooper and i think he had fun watching me go crazy! they played at workplay which was awesome because the room was small so no matter where you were you were close! my legs and back hurt though because you had to stand up the whole time. i couldn't take a ton of pictures because the security guard asked me to not take anymore (you weren't supposed to take any)!

before the concert this guy next to us asked johnny if he was going to sing along and johnny said heck yeah man! but joking! and the guy laughed, but the guy sand along with EVERY song and new more words than me...which says a lot! it was funny!!

after the show zac walked right by us!!! it was great. he was so close...if i had my camera out i would have taken a picture. oh well. on the way home johnny told me that zac brushed up against his arm when he walked by!!!!! oh my goodness...if that were me i would have freaked. i wanted to go take pictures by their tour bus but we had to get home to jack.

he loved riding the bunny and didn't want to get off

it is really hard to get a good picture of jack's teeth. i got this when johnny was tickling him. he has 6 teeth :)

i had to put a few pictures from the day jack was born on here :)

my parents were here for the birth...dad waited in the waiting room and mom held a small fan for me!!

my nurses were amazing!

the birthday boy with his dada

A year ago today at 4:14 pm jack was born. He weighed 8 pounds 3 ounces and was 21 inches long. I went to the hospital at 7:00 am to start all the paperwork to be induced. They started the pitocin at 8:00 am and I started having contractions but didn’t know it. I thought they were the Braxton hicks that I had been feeling a few weeks prior to labor. At 3 cm I decided that I wanted to go ahead and get my epideral before I started to feel the pain! At some point (not quite sure what time it was) I went from 4 cm to 9 ½ cm in 50 minutes (thanks to the purple jolly ranchers that my cousin amy told me to eat). So I began to push…still not feeling a thing!! Legs felt like a foreign object! I pushed for about an hour with my nurse and then my doctor came in to deliver precious jack! I pushed a few times with dr. klienpeter and then he had to use the vacuum to help get jack out. It was scary, but I knew it had to be done and at 4:14 our bundle of joy came into the world!! When jack was born I instantly fell in love. I began to cry and wanted to sooth him, kiss him, and hug him. He was the most precious baby with a head full of dark hair. He had to smallest fingers that I loved to have wrap around my finger.

The moment he was born changed our life in the best way possible. He has been such a joy this past year. I can’t believe that I am so lucky to spend everyday with him and see all the new things that he does. He has changed so much since he was born. I can remember him holding his head up for the first time, sitting by himself, crawling, and then walking. We have had a blast this past year and can’t wait for all the years to come (hopefully they will go slower than this past year).

About jack at 12 months old:
• weighs 21 pounds 11 ounces (gained 13 pounds 8 ounces since birth)
• he is 31.5 inches long (grown 10.5 inches since birth)
• said “bye bye” once to kelly
• said “ball” once at andrea’s house
• says “t” (throw) in a high pitched voice when he throws anything and everything
• knows to lift up his foot to put on socks and shoes
• still doesn’t eat “real” food
• his favorite baby food: apples and chicken, pears, and carrots with bananas
• eats 3 baby food meals a day (sometimes 2 jars at a time) and nurses 5 times
• words he knows (but doesn’t say): duck, ball, nose, shoes, pacie, alligator, monkey, hungry, hat, no, daddy, momma, pete, book, hammer, etc
• when I say “are you hungry?” he hands me his pacie and makes the “h” sound
• knows how to drink out of a sippy cup
• doesn’t crawl at all anymore
• actually listens to the word “no”
• shakes his head when he doesn’t want something
• loves pete to death
• says “dada” to mostly everything
• climbs on the couch
• ‘babbles all the time
• wants his pacie all the time
• loves to read books at night
• doesn’t nurse to sleep anymore
• holds things up to his ear like a phone and pretends to talk

he is the best baby boy in the whole world and I love him with all of my heart! He makes me smile and laugh everyday! i want him to know that we love him and always will.

jack's first birthday party

we had a wonderful time at jack's first birthday party this past saturday (oct. 17th). he did sooooo good! it is like he knew that everybody came over to see him and to celebrate him! he welcomed the early guests at the door. he sat in his daddy's lap while opening all of the gifts and became very protective over them :) he even helped open some of them. he even played with the toys and not the wrapping paper. although the next day he sure did have fun carrying around the empty boxes and bows that mimi made! he made a mess of his cupcake (didn't try any of it) and then cried when his guests laughed at him. all in all we had a great time and i am so happy that everything went smoothly!
i am sad to say that the only picture we have of my mom (mimi) and the birthday boy is the back of her head when she was trying to sooth him after the cupcake cry! i am so upset about this and want to cry but what can you do? i told her that i want to put him in his b-day shirt again and take a picture with her when we see her next but that would be cheating. next year you better believe i will be taking lots of pictures of mimi and jack!!
jack's real birthday is tomorrow at 4:14 pm. a year ago right now i was freaking out and going back and forth to the doctor's office to see when i was going to be induced. i just wanted one more day to get ready for him and to get my nerves up about birth so i tried to make it for the 22nd but there were too many ladies already scheduled to be induced that day...so the 21st it was! so i made sure i had everything in my bag (which i had packed a month earlier). we went to mellow mushroom for dinner with jason, lori, nicolette, house, and kelly. it was a good last dinner and i ate a ton because i knew that i couldn't eat anything after that until jack was born. we played with pete as much as we could because we knew we wouldn't see him for a few days. oh sweet memories! i know i am going to be a mess tomorrow thinking back to our sweet baby boy being born and about all of the wonderful memories we have made in a year!

maddie's first birthday

marcus came over friday night for dinner, along with house, kelly, and michelle. we had a lot of fun catching up with him and eating this delicious cake that he brought us from edgar's bakery...yum!

jack loves to play with the cords for the blinds. (of course i am sitting right there for all of you that were wondering)

this is the way that he sucks on pacies...with his bottom lip sticking out the bottom of it :)

we went to beth and stu's house saturday night to celebrate maddie's first birthday. we had a lot of fun watching her eat her cupcake. she did really well with it. but her favorite part was when stu gave her a fudge pop.

jack gave maddie a tea set for her birthday and then enjoyed playing with it. it was funny to see jack play with pink and purple toys. maybe one day he will have a little sister that will beg him to play tea party with her.

climbing on the couch

jack can climb up on the couch really well these days...scary!! when i came back in from fixing my cereal this morning he was up on the couch playing with the blinds! i can't leave that boy alone for a second :)

pumpkin patch

we went to old baker's pumpkin patch in harpersville, al yesterday and had so much fun even though it rained a little while we were there. jack got really dirty in the patch, but that is ok because he is a boy...i have to get used to dirt!!

walking in the pumpkin patch

so proud of his pumpkin.

trying to pick it up

we got the 2 on the right

he loved to tap on the pumpkins

daddy with 2 little pumpkins!!

on the hayride
jack really liked watching the tractor

fun day at the pumpkin patch :)
when we got off the hayride they offered to bring our pumpkins to the car and jack cried when we took his away so we had to hold onto his the rest of the time! he loved his pumpkin!!

fun saturday!

we had such a wonderful saturday! we went to sonic for breakfast, then yard selling, milos for lunch, then to a homemade art show, next was botanical gardens, sonic for a snack, then to kelly's art show, and then home to watch the auburn game!

i love how he walks with his hands up like that!

he loves to hold balls and sometimes throw them (mostly likes to throw them into the fireplace). he says "t" for throw

standing up

jack has a terrible habit of pulling hair. he pulls my hair and his daddy's hair and thinks that it is the funniest thing in the world. he makes what we call his devil noise! it hurts so bad...which in this picture you can't tell that i am yelling at johnny and telling him to help me. i was completely stuck because i couldn't get jack off of my back.
on the other hand, jack has the cutest habit of pulling his hair when he is sleepy. it is adorable. he pulls his hair in his crib until he falls asleep and has done this since he was almost a newborn. i remember the first time he pulled his hair and didn't know to let go when it hurt and started to cry! it was hilarious!!

johnny and jack watched most of the game like this...i snuck a picture of them

high five daddy! waaarrr eagle!
