atlanta family vacation

(get ready for picture overload)

monday morning we drove to atlanta from covington. we went to ikea to do some shopping and get lunch. we got a new toy shelf for jack's room and some little stuff for charlie's room. i love ikea and could spend all day in that store! then we went to check into our hotel room (we did priceline and got a residence inn in buckhead for $60 a night!!!)

monday night we went to the varsity for dinner. i have never been there before. it was yummy but i like dinglewood much more!

a theater named tara!!

the aquarium:
tuesday morning we woke up and got breakfast at our hotel (which jack didn't eat a bite of...he hardly ate anything on this trip besides snacks). then we were off to the aquarium. jack loved it! first we went and saw the shark whale feeding and then we went to a 3D movie called deepo which was a total knock off of nemo. jack was so funny because he would jump everytime a fish became 3D. he started out in his own chair but quickly ended up in my lap. he held onto my arms so tight and shook when the water squirted us. after it was over he said he wanted to see it again :) so i guess he wasn't that scared!
then we just took our time walking around the aquarium. we ate a very expensive not so good lunch!! and then it was off to see more fish. when we were done we went to the gift shop and picked out jack and charlie a gift and went outside. when we were leaving the shop jack saw something that he wanted more than what we got him but we didn't give him a choice...needless to say he was super upset and so was i. so i went back in and exchanged what we picked out for what he really wanted. he is 2.5 now and knows what he wants. he was VERY happy with his dolphin!
then it was nap time.
then we went to the flying biscuit for dinner. johnny and i have been there for breakfast twice but never for dinner. kids eat free so we thought we would try it out. i got the turkey pot roast that was soooo good. johnny got shrimp and grits and jack got a cheese quesadilla. jack didn't touch a bite of his dinner because he ate the whole biscuit before dinner (with ketchup).

i love this picture

jack loved the slide

deepo

as you can tell jack does not know about personal space! he introduced himself to all kinds of little kids this week and adults.

jack loved the touch screen that told you about the fish

playing trains in our hotel

this is a terrible pic but look how big my belly looks!!

this is what jack got from the aquarium. it is like his penguin from the chattanooga aquarium (burt the bird).

botanical gardens:
wednesday went to the botanical gardens after having a relaxing morning in our hotel room. it was really pretty and a lot bigger than our gardens. jack didn't touch his lunch again. when we were leaving he had a complete melt down because he was so tired...he did a lot of walking. when we got to the car to change his diaper he pretty much fell asleep as we were changing him.

the canopy walk

jack loved the echo in the tunnel

31 weeks

it was a great family vacation. jack slept GREAT! we got a blow up travel bed for him at a yard sake and it worked out great. he took naps everyday and slept through out the night. we would turn off all the lights and once he was asleep we turned on the tv and it didn't wake him up. he woke up quietly like he does at home and waited for us to pick him up. my only complaint about this week was him not eating, but he has already made up for it last night and today!!

it was super cold! i had no idea that it was going to be chilly. all i packed us was shorts and tshirts. my mom let me borrow a little jacket and we went to old navy and bought jack a $5 jacket. poor johnny had nothing! he didn't complain at all though. so we didn't get to play in the fountains at centennial park or ride the open air train at stone mountain or swim in our pool, but that's ok.
