karla and josh's wedding

steven put jack in karis' sling. jack thought it was fun and weird
we went to nashville this past weekend for our friend karla's wedding. it was a fun trip and we loved getting to hang out with molly, emily, steven, and karis. karis is such a good baby. i hardly even heard her cry. jack was good too. he had a tough time getting to sleep in the pack and play but he did pretty good. he woke up more than normal, but come to find out he was teething and got his 7th tooth on sunday!

jack helped molly cook breakfast

after karla's wedding

cutting the cake

finally we got to see the bride!!

karis was fine with sitting with jack until we got our cameras out
(they are 1 year and 4 days apart)

steven and jack had a photo shoot

johnny with karis

we went to mcwain center on monday morning before johhny went into work. jimmy gave us a family membership. it was fun but we need more than an hour in there. next time we will stay longer. jack really enjoyed most of it. he will enjoy it even more in the years to come.

jack thought the bed of needles was weird

johnny on the giant bed of needles

jack thought that the "mouse trap" like contraption was interesting. i think he could have stayed there all day looking at it

he spotted mama!

we came home to this when we got back from mcwain center. the alarm said trouble on it so it scared me that somebody was in the house or had been in the house. johnny said that they would have called us and to go check the phone to see if it was working. it wasn't so he said go check the line outside. when i opened the blinds i was in shock and got an instant headache. we are so lucky that it didn't fall on our house. it just hit the cable line, power line, and our neighbors fence. God was looking out for us!!

15 months old!

jack loves to help me sweep. he gets the big broom and i get his tiny one :)

these pjs were molly's when she was little and maybe even miriam's and possibly even molly robin's!

jack dancing with his daddy! jack likes to swing his arms really fast! his new way to dance is to stomp his feet

johnny turned 27 on january 17th! he says that he feels old!

we had breakfast for dinner for his party. i hate breakfast for dinner and johnny really likes it. kelly made pumpkin bread for his cake and i made cream cheese frosting

clara and jack in the wagon

we went to ikea for johnny's birthday and had fun! at times it was a bit stressful with jack because it was so crowded and jack wanted to get down a lot. jack loved ikea's fries and meatballs!!

on the way home jack played with the gps

he had a blast

he also gave muno some juice

and read a book! he is such a good car rider :)

i can't believe that jack is 15 months old today! i tell you what, time flies when you are having fun! he is so much fun these days.

he has learned to play peek a boo and will hide behind his hands when i say "where's jack?".

he takes one good 2-3 hour nap every day and is sleeping better at night (he still wakes up once every night). he sleeps until about 8:30-9:00 every morning.

he loves to chase pete around the den and throw his ball for him. they are becomming better pals.

he weighs 23.9 pounds (40th percentile)
he is 31 1/2 inches long (60th percentile)

he had his doctor's appointment yesterday and did wonderful! he sat in my lap in the waiting room (which was a big surprise). he was great with the first nurse who weighed him and measured him. he did fantastic with the doctor. jack was playing with his phone when he came into the room and the doctor said that he knew that kids were getting phones earlier and earlier now but he has never seen one this young with one. (jack loves his phone)! he did great with the second nurse until she gave him his shot. before the shot he was smiling at her and laughing and she said "please don't do that. don't smile at me...i feel so bad!" anyway jack cried really hard during the 4 shots but was fine when i picked him up (which was way better than last time....he was still crying at the check out desk last time) and the nurse couldn't even look at him when she left the room.

jack is eating more solids these days! but the doctor said not to worry if he still prefers baby food because his weight is perfect. he said some kids just like it and jack is one of them. he loves cheese quesadillas dipped in ranch, fries dipped in ketchup, cheese puffs, yogurt, apples and chicken, pop tarts, and pickles. he has tried and liked meatballs, hotdogs, spaghetti o's, grapes (without the skin), ravioli, and some other stuff that i can't think of right now. he likes chocolate milk (the way i figure it atleast he is drinking it)!! he likes orange juice.

some sad news is that he has eczema :( my poor baby has my skin! lets just pray that it doesn't get as bad as mine gets!!

dead batteries

we have had the worst luck with our cars lately. first the elantra wouldn't start for johnny one morning. we tried to jump it off that night with house's help and no luck. so we thought it was the starter. so we were going to get it towed the next morning and left the car sticking almost all the way out into the road with an orange blanket on it hoping that nobody would hit it. our neighbor, who is the biggest auburn fan, came by and asked what was going on. johnny told him the story and he said that he would like to give it a shot with his jumper cables. johnny said ok just to be nice and it is a good thing he did because it worked!! so johnny took it to auto zone that night (we found one open until 11:00) and we got a new battery and some jumper cables. well it has been so cold that jack and i have just stayed in the house. 3 days later we were going out to get a baby gift and guess what...the camry didn't start!! so johnny came home somewhat early from work so that he could work on it in the daylight. he got it cranked and we drove around for 15 mintues. we thought it was fine. then the next morning we got in the car to go couch shopping and it wouldn't start! so johnny brought it somewhere and got a new battery. moral of the story is: cold weather and a battery that is about to die do not mix!!

he really likes to feed pete from his highchair. i don't like that he does this but what kid doesn't when they have a dog?!?

my silly boy

pete likes to sit by the warm vent when we give jack a bath. after i put jack down for a nap today i found pete in jack's pop up tent :)
jack and i took pete to the vet yesterday to get his annual vaccinations. pete was so scared. i think it is funny that he knew that we were at the vet even though he has never stepped foot in that vet. he started shaking the second i pulled into the parking lot :) poor dog! he was tough though! and the good news is that he is healthy!!

jack is doing so much better in the bath lately. i still don't feel comfortable giving him a bath by myself. he loves the bath and has fun with all his toys and really really hates getting out of the bath, but once he sees the lotion he is fine.

we have been looking at couches lately and testing how comfy they are. we have a few in mind...so we will see. we have looked at so many couches that i had a dream the other night about a couch that was covered in carpet...weird!

jack was playing peek a boo with me in his tent

jack gets to play in the tupperware cabinet while we are in the kitchen and it usually keeps him entertained, but he would much rather be in my arms watching me cook. or in his daddy's arms helping him stir. we are trying to teach him that the stove is hot...so we say "hot" and he says "ha" over and over!

jack is for sure my child...he loves ketchup!! he also loves pickles :)
he also loves to dip things in ranch dressing...that is how i got him to finally eat an egg and a grilled cheese (which he usually spits out both right away)

jack has really enjoyed throwing daddy's cornhole bags all around the house

we are still putting up all the christmas stuff and jack found his hat and wanted to wear it

jack has figured out that the doorknobs open up doors...so he loves to grab them and try to open them. he can open his door in his room if we don't close it the right way and the bathroom door. this is way too scary! one of his new favorite games is to run to his room and shut the door to lock us out :) he laughs and laughs. luckily he hasn't slammed his fingers in the door yet. although he has shut his fingers in drawers :( but he gets over it pretty quick when we run it under cold water

this picture is just too cute not to put on the blog!

big smiles

jack loves to watch us cook and be in the kitchen with us when we cook. (johnny said last night that he thinks jack is going to be a famous chef) anyway, jack put this bath mitt on and used it as an oven mitt :)

all bundled up! it has been so cold here lately. we got a little bit of snow yesterday but not enough to play in

mommy was inside jack's tent and he thought it was so funny

jack gets static hair in his tent. he still goes in his tent to take poos! he has been doing this for about a week now and everytime he does it i laugh to myself. maybe he will be an early potty trainer...fingers crossed!

my goober bear! when johnny saw this picture he said "he looks like a little boy!" it is true. our baby doesn't look like a baby anymore :(

he sat on the couch and played with this for like 15 mintues

giving daddy a hug!!

jack pulled around this cord and tried to fix some of his toys

i said that he was giving the train some gas

i said "jack smile" and this is what i got :)

jack ate some of my pasta today for lunch...he liked putting the rings on his fingers and eating them that way. i guess it is time to eat spaghetti o's :) i told my mom today that it is going to be hard for me to give jack spaghetti o's because i threw up one time after eating them. i guess i will try to erase that memory from my brain because every little kid has to eat spaghetti o's...right?!?

here is what jack is up to these days...
jack has been so much fun lately because he understands pretty much anything we say. for example if we say "go get in your tent" and he does it right away! he knows what all of his toys are and where they are in the den. he loves to give hugs so if we say "awe i need a hug" he wraps his sweet little arms around our necks and gives us a big hug. he will try pretty much any food that we give him but will let us know right away that he does not like it (if that is the case). he likes a lot more food than he used to. i think the baby food days are coming to an end soon. but my cousin made me feel so much better because she said that she gave her youngest baby food until she was like 2 1/2. jack just really likes baby food. i think jack will be eating apples and chicken until he is in high school :)
