going through auburn and 27 weeks

we stopped through auburn on the way home from our trip. we wanted to see what had changed...it is crazy how much has changed. we also wanted to take pete for a walk around the pond in front of the the museum where johnny and i got engaged. we had a lot of fun but it was super hot that day.

27 week bare belly shot. the baby is 2 pounds now (which is the weight of a head of cauliflower). he is 14 1/2 inches long.

my doctor's appointment went great. jack was flipping around when the doctor was listening for his heartbeat. the doctor said everything looked great. he said that i am doing just fine with my weight and all. so that made me happy because some people have been a little conserned that i was gaining too much (for some reason!!).

this is a video of the whale sharks. there are 3 of them in the tank. they are like 22 feet long and maybe some are longer.

in our hotel after our dinner at rathbun's. it was so delicious. johnny got a lobster taco and i got braised brisket with a tomato au jus and fried green tomatoes. i got a dark chocolate hazelnut tart with pecan ice cream(so amazing!) and johnny got vanilla creme brulee(said it was very good)

room service breakfast!! it was a lot of fun eating breakfast in bed (and i got a little bottle of ketchup!!)

our trip to atlanta--georgia aquarium

we had a blast on our vacation. our first day there we went to the georgia aquarium(which is the largest one in the world). we had so much fun.

johnny had to climb through all the tunnels because i couldn't do it :)

johnny took the first part to step 2 the other day and i got him a cookie cake to congratulate him. he takes the second part of it tomorrow in atlanta. we are in columbus right now and then we leave for our mini vacation on thursday. we are going to atlanta! i will post pictures from our trip later.

baby shower and other pics

my friends in mobile threw me a baby shower. it was so much fun and we got lots of great gifts for jack and for me! we had french onion soup (one of my favorites), a yummy salad, sundried tomato hummus, virgin strawberry mojitos, and a fruit cookie cake. it was a great day!

we played lots of games at the shower. with this game we had to guess what kind of chocolate bar was the poopy in the diaper. we could smell it, look at it, and even taste it. we played another game where we had to guess the baby food...which was actually kind of tough! we played baby catch phrase and a few other games. (you can really see the shirt in this picture)

this is the mommy basket. everybody brought a present for me to help me relax and feel pretty. it was really nice of everybody to think of me!!

the baby was the size of a corn cob (a foot long) last week, but i didn't post this picture until now. this week (25 weeks) he is 13.5 inches long and weighs a pound and a half. he is growing fast!

johnny and i have been playing mancala lately. here he is playing and drinking martinelis (spelling?) apple juice :)

24 weeks and 4th of July

the baby is 24 weeks now and the size of a ear of corn (over a foot long now)!! he weighs over a pound and kicks around all the time. we can see him move or kick around in my belly. my uterus is the size of a soccer ball...crazy!! i am still feeling really good and enjoying being pregnant, but i looked at pregnant belly pictures online yesterday and it scared me because the ladies get sooooo big and have ugly stretch marks. i hope i don't get stretch marks!!

this is at the white coat ceremony for the upcoming 3rd year med students. johnny and marcus got the arnold gold humanism in medicine award. he was voted by his classmates for this award.

we went to play putt putt with matt, teresa, and kelly. it was a lot of fun but the course was a little out dated (as you can see by the elephant's missing trunk)!! i hit a hole in one!!! i think jack brought me good luck!

we went to sonic afterwards and walked through the drive thru (they wouldn't let us order from the drive up spots). we felt silly! it was a fun night though.
