dead batteries

we have had the worst luck with our cars lately. first the elantra wouldn't start for johnny one morning. we tried to jump it off that night with house's help and no luck. so we thought it was the starter. so we were going to get it towed the next morning and left the car sticking almost all the way out into the road with an orange blanket on it hoping that nobody would hit it. our neighbor, who is the biggest auburn fan, came by and asked what was going on. johnny told him the story and he said that he would like to give it a shot with his jumper cables. johnny said ok just to be nice and it is a good thing he did because it worked!! so johnny took it to auto zone that night (we found one open until 11:00) and we got a new battery and some jumper cables. well it has been so cold that jack and i have just stayed in the house. 3 days later we were going out to get a baby gift and guess what...the camry didn't start!! so johnny came home somewhat early from work so that he could work on it in the daylight. he got it cranked and we drove around for 15 mintues. we thought it was fine. then the next morning we got in the car to go couch shopping and it wouldn't start! so johnny brought it somewhere and got a new battery. moral of the story is: cold weather and a battery that is about to die do not mix!!

he really likes to feed pete from his highchair. i don't like that he does this but what kid doesn't when they have a dog?!?

my silly boy

pete likes to sit by the warm vent when we give jack a bath. after i put jack down for a nap today i found pete in jack's pop up tent :)
jack and i took pete to the vet yesterday to get his annual vaccinations. pete was so scared. i think it is funny that he knew that we were at the vet even though he has never stepped foot in that vet. he started shaking the second i pulled into the parking lot :) poor dog! he was tough though! and the good news is that he is healthy!!

jack is doing so much better in the bath lately. i still don't feel comfortable giving him a bath by myself. he loves the bath and has fun with all his toys and really really hates getting out of the bath, but once he sees the lotion he is fine.

we have been looking at couches lately and testing how comfy they are. we have a few in mind...so we will see. we have looked at so many couches that i had a dream the other night about a couch that was covered in carpet...weird!

jack was playing peek a boo with me in his tent

jack gets to play in the tupperware cabinet while we are in the kitchen and it usually keeps him entertained, but he would much rather be in my arms watching me cook. or in his daddy's arms helping him stir. we are trying to teach him that the stove is hot...so we say "hot" and he says "ha" over and over!

jack is for sure my child...he loves ketchup!! he also loves pickles :)
he also loves to dip things in ranch dressing...that is how i got him to finally eat an egg and a grilled cheese (which he usually spits out both right away)

jack has really enjoyed throwing daddy's cornhole bags all around the house

we are still putting up all the christmas stuff and jack found his hat and wanted to wear it

jack has figured out that the doorknobs open up doors...so he loves to grab them and try to open them. he can open his door in his room if we don't close it the right way and the bathroom door. this is way too scary! one of his new favorite games is to run to his room and shut the door to lock us out :) he laughs and laughs. luckily he hasn't slammed his fingers in the door yet. although he has shut his fingers in drawers :( but he gets over it pretty quick when we run it under cold water

this picture is just too cute not to put on the blog!

a little piece of advice - don't get a couch that the cushions can come off of. they always end up on the floor or thrown at someone! amy

i'm so glad jack still likes his tent! cute pics. he looks more and more like a little boy--no more baby!
