iPhone pictures (potty and more of Johnny's bday)

last tuesday at mama and me charlie decided that he wanted to try to sit on the potty so i let him...nothing happened but he was super happy and proud. when we got home he wanted to try on our potty and nothing happened again. then that night i saw him grunting so i said do you want to go potty and he ran for the bathroom. he has gone poo poo on the potty almost every day since last week. i am not rushing it...we are just letting him try it out and he is super proud!

last week charlie helped me with the bulletin board in our sunday school room. he fell asleep on the way there and stayed asleep while i worked

jack went to grandma's house on friday night and had a blast! we decided to go to the zoo with just charlie saturday and let him see the birds...he loves birds!

we celebrated johnny's birthday at grandma's house saturday night...she made a lemon head cake!!

i think jack thought johnny looked silly :)

Johnny's 30th birthday

i made a sign for johnny that has pictures throughout his 30 years

 for some reason this is the only place that blogger will let me type other than under the pictures...so this is a little out of order, but we had a party for johnny on saturday night. we had a "beer tasting" party. everybody brought their favorite beer and then we had small cups so everybody could taste all the different kinds. we also had lots of pizza and coconut cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. i was a little disappointed with them though. i didn't take a picture of the party or the cupcakes :(

jack decorated johnny's chair. he got a pair of shoes, some reese's cups, soft peppermints and jelly belly's for his birthday. the boys made him cards too. i also made him some of his favorite cookies...white chocolate chip and craisin oatmeal

we decorated during charlie's morning nap...on a side note, we went out at 8:30 am to get johnny a card from me and a balloon (before the snow). jack picked out an angry birds balloon and then it blew away when we got to the car. he almost started to cry so we went back in to get another and publix was so nice to give us one for free!

we were going to go out to eat at chez fon fon, but the snow kinda ruined that. we were going to get a nice dessert there so we made the cookies a "cookie cake"

making a snowman (notice all the cars on our street...they couldn't make it up the hill so they were parking and walking home...the white car was a lady from boston who knocked on our door asking if she could leave it there...of course i wasn't going to say no! anyway, she said that she is used to driving in snow, but couldn't drive in this...that made me feel better about the southerner's driving bad in snow)

Jack pretending to be a wild Kratt

Jack loves his creature power suit that andrea and Clara made him. He wears it all the time and even wants to leave the house in it...it is rare for jack to leave on a costume for a long period of time.

we went to the zoo on saturday and he was a lot of different animals (large mouth bass, chameleon, kangaroo...)

he was a large mouth bass and standing by the large mouth bass (even though you can't see it because of the reflecion)

jack loves to pretend to be the chameleon. i think he really thinks we can't see him. the other day he asked if i could see him and i said no, but i could see his eyes because they were open. so when we got to the zoo he asked if we could see him and he closed his eyes! it was so cute and made me laugh everytime! do you see the pure joy on his face???

i think pretending to be a wild kratt and a chameleon is like the best thing ever to him right now because his favorite show is wild kratts and his favorite movie right now is tangled.

18 months appointment

Charlie's stats:
26 lbs (50th%)
34 3/4 inches (90th%)

The doctor said that he looks great! He said not to worry about him not talking much because he is understanding what we say. (not that I was that worried) Charlie cried a good bit when they gave him his 2nd and 3rd shot but didn't cry at all with the first one. He had a great time eating his lunch in the room and exploring :)

18 months

Charlie at 18 months:

·      says: “ba” ball, momma, dada, jack,  uh oh, juice, no, book, shoe, cheese, bye bye, hello,

·      makes a dog sound (we are working on other animals, but that is the only one that has stuck)

·      I say that Charlie is my “silent talker”. I made up this term for him because he talks with grunts and sounds and I know exactly what he wants or what he is saying. For example, after he goes poopy he will say, “sss sss” which means stinky. Also, he shakes his head yes or no a lot instead of saying the words. He also still claps his hands for “more”

·      He wears size 18-24 month clothes

·      He still has the smallest foot…size 4. Jack was in a size 6-7 by now.

·      He doesn’t watch any tv (unlike his brother at this age who was obsessed with yo gabba gabba)

·      He is starting to show his temper (mostly when we don’t serve a meal on time)

·      He still doesn’t love hugs from his brother, but he is ok with it if jack tells him he is going to hug him first

·      Some of his favorite foods are: krave cereal, deli meat, string cheese, chicken nuggets,  mac n cheese, spaghetti, fruit, etc. he will eat pretty much everything we eat (which is totally different than jack)

·      Sleeps through the night (unless he is teething)

·      Wakes up at 6:30-7:00, goes to bed at 8:00

·      Takes 2 naps still…a morning nap around 9:30-10:00 and an afternoon nap from 2:00-4:00. He is so grouchy if he doesn’t get a morning nap…not sure when we will drop it

·      He loves his pacies! He has one all the time (go ahead judge all you want, but I am his momma and I don’t see the harm in it right now…he won’t go to kindergarten with one!!) it soothes him! He sleeps with about 6 pacies and plays with them. When we get him out of his bed he has to grab for the nearest extra pacie and either switch to that one or just carry that one to the changing table.

charlie loves to chase pete! he also loves to hug him, pet him, feed him, and much more.

 jack drew this picture of pete (i know it doesn't really look like him, but that is ok). he also wrote pete and dog. i sounded out pete and he spelled it. he needed me to write an "e" on another piece of paper first. then i sounded out dog and he spelled it, but needed me to write a "g" on another piece of paper. i was really impressed! he also drew the arrow.

i found this on my phone the day after jack and i took a nap together on the couch...thanks for taking it johnny! jack has not been napping lately :( i think naps are done for him. this is after his ipad time in his room...i guess he was tired that day!

i was proud of this drawing! he wrote pete and dog by himself (he knew how to write the p, t, d, and o...i wrote the e and g on another piece of paper and he wrote it on his. the drew the arrow so that we would know that that was pete)

we went to the mall yesterday and let the kids ride the carrousel

charlie has learned to use a spoon and fork...he is actually really good with them...makes meal times so much cleaner!
