jack got his birthday present from chris, sarah, kate, and benjamin. i think he likes it...

jack's first camping experience!!
this is just a pop up tent, but he wanted to sleep in it...so i let him. it is vented really well so i thought that it should be fine.

i wish i could have caught on camera how excited he was for me to set it up for naptime. jack is really good about going to sleep, but getting him to get in bed is sometimes hard. he likes to stall and takes forever to go pee and put on his pullup. not today!! he went potty and put that pullup on as fast as he could.
i set it up and told him that if he didn't fall asleep in the thomas tent then i was going to take it away. well, he talked for a few minutes and then fell asleep. 2 hours later...still asleep. i wonder what he will say when he wakes up??

baby boppy

charlie is starting to do really well with tummy time. he has always enjoyed it, but just now able to really hold up his head for more than 2 seconds!!

i guess the flash liked charlie in this picture!!

mcwane

we went to the mcwane center yesterday. it was my first time bringing the boys by myself. it worked out great! i fed charlie right before we left and only stayed 2 hours so i didn't have to feed him there. it was not crowded at all so that was wonderful.

jack was great there and really minded me well. charlie slept almost the whole time.

he did get in a little trouble here for a few reasons. he touched the shark when he wasn't supposed to (rest time) and he touched the shark with more than 2 fingers. he also splashed. oops!

the octopus was really active. jack thought it was funny that there was a mr. potato head in the tank. i guess the octopus likes to play with toys??

whistle stop festival and bryson

we went to the whistle stop festival in irondale yesterday. it was a lot of fun! we didn't have any cash with us so we had to do all the free things. which ended up being fine and we saved money! i even got free boiled peanuts! jack got to go in a bounce house, on a train, look at model trains, and much more!

we ate at the whistle stop cafe. even charlie ate! i never ever fed jack in public. i would always go to the car to feed him. well, i think i have fed charlie in every public place we have been! i can see people giving me weird looks, but i gotta do what i gotta do. i wear the hooter hider so i am completely covered. i just know it weirds some people out...especially guys. oh well!

several people asked how old charlie was. and when i said 2 months they were all shocked. one guy at the restaurant asked if i fed him meat and potatoes and then when i said he was only 2 months old he was like oh my! he's going to be a football player one day. i didn't say it, but i thought i sure hope not! football scares me!

we also got to visit with bryson, johnny's friend that he grew up with. he just had a baby about 3 weeks ago.

i better hide

every day when johnny gets home from work jack hides under either a blanket or a pillow. it is so adorable! as soon as he hears the door open and close he says "i better hide" in a very excited voice.

once he is under the blanket he laughs almost the whole time.
(as you can see pete is excited he is home too)

then johnny says, "where's jack?" and jack giggles and giggles. then johnny will say, "is he by____ or _____" (knowing that he is not) and jack says in a giggling voice under the blanket, "no". so cute!

charlie and i were just having a good ole time talking to eachother yesterday and then this happened...
he pooped out the back of his diaper and it leaked onto my legs and then onto the couch! yuck!
next time you are at my house i bet you will think twice before you sit on my couch, huh? (don't worry i washed it!)
jack was such a big helper and ran to get me a burp rag...gross, but can be washed

on a side note...huggies are great! this is the first time that he has leaked out the back in them. now pampers on the other hand...he leaks out of those big time. huggies has a leak guard on the waist...best invention ever...must have been a mom that invented it!

and the pacie has returned! ugh! i am so frustrated with that thing. he just LOVES them and really acts better with it. i mean the instant that thing goes into his mouth he settles down. he could be having the worst temper tantrum and when we put it in his mouth he starts twirling his hair :)
he has been sick lately so we let him have it while he was sick and now we are going to have to start all over. i don't want to!!!!!

this is our den...yes it is messy, but i would rather play with my babies then clean and fold clothes...blame me??

blankie

i realized the other day that IF charlie is our last baby that i needed to cherish every minute with him! so i held him for a nap and loved it! now don't get me wrong...i like to have MY time during naps, but i will hold onto him a little longer after i rock him and just watch my sweet baby sleep!

8 days old

2 months and 12 days old

he seems to like to cuddle things with his hands. i was noticing him grabbing at his clothes trying so i gave him his blankie that i got him before he was born and he has loved to snuggle with it. i wonder if he is going to be my baby that has to have a blankie or stuffy to sleep with...
we have switched to the NUK pacies...which i am glad about. he can hold them in his mouth so much better!

another day at the zoo

jack said, "i'll sleep on the hardwood floor tonight" (of course we didn't let him)

i always ask jack what he wants to see before we go to the zoo. he picked the alligator and the zebras.

watching the trains

saturday we went to watch the trains with sonny and grandma. sonny used to drive the trains so he wanted to take jack to see the big trains. we had a great time!

we got to see the driver and he even yelled "war eagle" to us.

after the train finished going by us, as we were getting back in the car, jack said "that was tool (cool)!"


i think we will be going back to watch the trains pretty soon!
