hives

when i was changing jack's diaper to head over to clara's house to go play i noticed a bump on his bottom and that it was red. so i lifted up his shirt and noticed lots of little red spots on his belly (they weren't raised up). then i looked at his back and saw about 5 big red spots on his back. so i called andrea and said i think we have to cancel and took him to the doctor. the doctor said they were hives. i told him that he hasn't eaten anything different because well he doesn't ever try any new foods! he said that about 75% of the time you don't know what causes the allergic reaction. he seems fine. so we are giving him zyrtec and hoping that it gets better. poor baby!

i saw on my friend, melissa's blog that she brought crayons and let her daughter draw on the paper. we'll it is a genius idea and i am mad at myself for never thinking about it before. we drew pictures and he thought it was great. cars are always a hit in the room too!

he likes to say "cheese" and then he says "let me see" after i take the picture.

on a side note: they weighed him and he weighs 29 pounds.

there's a turtle in the tub

during jack's bath last night he told us that he was a turtle and showed us the shell on his back. he thought of this all by himself. his imagination is really starting to show.

we went to railroad park after jack's nap saturday afternoon. we took full advantage of the beautiful warm january day! we had fun, but it was very crowded...i guess the rest of birmingham had the same idea to go to railroad park. we went to triangle park on the way home and met up with kelly, rebecca, and mckayla.

january zoo day

we met andrea and clara at the zoo saturday morning (yay for a much needed warm day in january)! johnny was on call, but he got done at 10:15 so he met us at the zoo :) we didn't bring a stroller and jack did GREAT! he held my hand and stayed right by me.

kick

i know for a fact that i just felt the baby kick! yay! i thought i was feeling it a few weeks ago (and maybe i was), but this for sure was a kick. it's hard to believe that i have a baby inside of me that is moving around. God does some really awesome things!

on another note: i am trying to get jack to clean up after himself. i have made him clean up some in the past, but nothing major. i usually clean up after he goes to bed. i think he is old enough to help me now and since he will be starting school in the fall (tear) i thought it would be a good idea to get him to clean up when i tell him to. so today he was asking to watch a show...so i told him that he had to clean up the cards from candyland first. i guess he didn't really want to watch a show because he didn't clean up. well, then he went to get a toy out of his toy box so i said that he had to clean up the cards first. finally, he started the process of cleaning up. it took him 20-25 minutes to pick up 20 cards!! he had to put each card in the dumptruck and dump them into the box. he did it, but it took a while. since then he has cleaned up playdoh, foam letters, monkeys in a barrel like a champ. i mainly just want him to clean up big messes right now. not individual toys unless i say so. he is doing pretty good with it.

cars board game

we went to grandma's house last saturday night for cake to celebrate her 60th birthday and johnny's birthday. of course my camera ran out of battery so this is the only picture i got. she got a train cake pan from mary for christmas...i think it turned out pretty cute!

we played a board game with jack for the first time the other night after dinner. he actually understood and waited his turn and moved his piece after he rolled the dice. it is a cars the movie game.

every night after johnny gets home from work jack says "let's go to our room". he calls my room "our room". i guess that is what johnny and i call it. anyway, he loves to get on our bed and ride johnny's side like a motorcycle. i think it is the cutest thing. jack belly laughs every night!

jack's big news!

"i'm going to be a big brother in july!"

we found out on 11-7-2010

this is how we announced it to family! we made the shirt with some left over iron on letters and skyped with my parents. i think my dad actually said something first! we sent an email to johnny's mom because she doesn't have skype and we were going to call her and tell her to check her email, but she checked it before we could call her and called us to congratulate us. johnny called his dad, jimmy, and mary. i called my brother.

at 14 weeks the baby is the size of a lemon right now (3 and a half inches)!!

i am already in maternity pants and am showing very quickly!

i had my 14 week appointment today and everything looks fine. we heard the heartbeat again which is always a wonderful sound to hear!! we are super excited about this baby and that jack will be a big brother! God is good!!

i am feeling good right now! i felt fine until i was about 7 weeks pregnant and then the nausea set in. i figured out that if i ate every hour or so i wouldn't get too bad of a nausea feeling. so i carried a lot of snacks around!! i don't think i was as sick feeling with #2 as i was with jack. with jack i actually lost weight and with this one i gained it.
we find out if it is a boy or a girl on february 11th!! we can't wait!! i am fine with whatever God gives us! i just pray that he/she is healthy and that they grow up to love the Lord!

happy 28th birthday johnny!

yesterday was johnny's birthday so he decided to take the day off! yesterday morning he got to sleep until 9:00 and then we went to chick fil a for chicken biscuits...yum! jack got to play in the playground for a while and then we drove to the galleria. we just walked around there for a while and then johnny and jack had daddy/son time and rode the carousel together. it was a fun day. grandma came over and babysit so johnny and i could go out for johnny's bday. we went to fire. it was pretty good. we had a good time together but it wasn't anything fancy. not sure if we will go back or not.

triangle park

we went to triangle park a few times in the last couple of weeks.

we went with grandma after we saw an imax (wild ocean on the 31st). we wanted to show her the park that jack and i spend a lot of our time when the weather is warm.

johnny, jack, and i went to breakfast saturday morning at the original pancake house in 5 points. it was very yummy! we got the banana pancakes (soooo good!) after breakfast we went to the park to let jack run some energy off outside since we knew it was going to snow sunday night.

new year's eve

robby, andrea, and clara came over to celebrate the new year. we cooked roasted chicken, roasted carrots, green beans, and baked potatoes. it was so yummy!
the kids played with all of jack's new christmas gifts. clara was going to try to go to sleep over here so that we could all ring in the new year together, but she thought it was a little scary and weird so they went home at 9:00. johnny and i went to bed at 11:00 after watching the ball drop (EST). lame i know! we are getting old!!
