father's day 2009

jack gave his "dada" a grill, a grilling cookbook, and cedar planks.

i had big plans to wake up and make johnny a yummy breakfast. jack was playing so nicely in the den and i preheated the oven and got 2 biscuits out to bake...then the power goes out!! so we went to mcdonald's and got breakfast and johnny's much needed coffee!

8 months old
6-21-09

jack is 8 months old...i can't believe it!!! he is doing so much now. he is saying "dada" over and over and over. although he doesn't just say it to johnny....everything and everybody is dada. his favorite food is gerber's chicken and apples. he pulls up on everything and then stands alone for a about 15 to 30 seconds at a time. he is sitting down a lot more gracefully now. he can walk holding on to something...yesterday he walked along the couch to get to a magazine.

lake reunion 2009

we went to the ross family reunion last week and had a blast (as usual). we ate lots of yummy food that i got most of the recipes for :) we got to meet kate (chris and sarah's baby that is 3 weeks younger than jack. she was absolutely adorable. she is such a girl and jack is such a boy. it is funny that you can already tell what their personalities are going to be like. kate is so chill and just sits back and watches everything and everybody around her. jack on the other hand loves to be the center of attention and is all over the place.
we had fun catching up with everybody since we missed coming last year due to johnny's med school rotation. we had a men's cooking night...it was delicious. we listened to miriam's wonderful violin playing everyday. she is soooo good! i wish that i could play an instrument as well as she does.
jack loved playing in the water even though it was colder than cold :) he just kicked his legs and smiled the whole time he was in the water. he also loved the boat rides that we took. he mostly slept on the boat but while he was awake we could tell that he was enjoying it. he loved meeting all of his family members.
while we were at the lake jack said "dada" for the first time (see the video on the next post)!!
