seeing cousin frank in columbus

jack has been waking up on his tummy lately. we are trying to slowly get him to take naps in his crib...this a picture of him waking up after his morning nap.

when i came home from the store i found my two boys like this on the couch :)

we went to columbus this weekend and jack got to see his cousin frank again.
here he is meeting emily! he also met macy, but i didn't get a picture of jack with her :(
he got to see his aunt martha and barbara again too!

here are the two cousins together. frank is getting so big! frank really liked smiling at jack and talking to him. frank loves to talk...my mom said that frank talked the day he was born :)

jack is starting to be able to sit up on his own for about 30 seconds at a time...sometimes a little longer. i think he is doing pretty good!

we had so much fun at the beach with our friends. it was chilly, but beautiful. we didn't get a picture of jack's feet in the sand for some reason. he did feel it though. pete probably had more fun than any of us...he LOVES the beach and sleeps all day after because he plays so hard!

same day...we changed bibs and seats. his vibrachair seemed to be best for us to feed him. he likes to lean over in his bumbo (probably because his thighs are almost too big for it!)


he did a great job and really seemed to like it. he ate over half of the bowl :)

he did better today...he is really a clean eater. i'm sure he will be a pretty messy eater once he has "real" food

here he is eating the rice cereal...as you can see pete didn't want to miss one minute of it :) we didn't let pete try any because i am afraid that he will like it and want to eat it everytime we feed jack...which would be annoying!





jack doesn't really crawl yet but he is scooting. he likes to scoot backwards and in circles. here he is trying to crawl!! we are excited that he is trying to crawl, but we are really nervous too! he is going to be into everything pretty soon...yikes! before i took this video he was on his playmat in the center of it and he wiggled and moved sideways and onto the carpet. for some reason the little booger likes to be on the nasty carpet instead of his clean mat and blanket. oh well...germs are good for babies right?

5 months old

i can't believe that jack is already 5 months old...time is flying by! he is getting to be a little handful. he is "trying" to crawl...he just scoots backwards though :) time to babyproof the house!! he is putting EVERYTHING in his mouth. he wanted to eat curious george while we were taking his pictures. we also think that he is for real teething this time. his gums are really hard where a tooth would sprout. he bites down really hard on his fingers and ours. he loves to play on his tummy. he can push up on his arms really well now and only looses head contriol when he is tired. right when i put him down on his back he rolls over to his tummy and then tries to scoot. he is still the sweetest baby ever and loves to smile at us. he loves for us to tickle him especially his daddy! he has the sweatiest feet ever!! i am scared of what his shoes are going to smell like in his teenage years....yuck!

we have the envelope, but we still don't know where we are going...at this point i am going bonkers!!

we had to wait like 8 minutes once we had the envelope to open it (match day rules are that you have to open it at 11:00 on the dot). they rang the bell and johnny took forever to open the envelope...because he is a spaz (hence why i gave him a letter opener for christmas)! everybody around us were screaming and jumping up and down and hugging and i still didn't know where we were going. really all of this happened within like 30 seconds, but it felt like a lifetime! then he finally got it open and WE GOT UAB!! we are so excited. so now i will also announce that we put an offer in on a house that we found in birmingham with hopes of ending up there (we had a contingency of matching to uab of course). they accepted our offer and we are going this weekend for the home inspection! we are soooo excited :) more about that later

i made this bib for jack to announce where is daddy is going for residency...it says "my dad's going to UAB" you can't really see the baby blue stickers that i got...oh well! it was a hit though. we had random people taking pictures of it. i was proud! jack did so good during the whole ceremony. he played with my coke can and then fell asleep. have i mentioned that he is such a good baby?

the picture above is jack in his new car seat. he outgrew his little baby carseat...we got him this one on march 1st. he also has a new stroller, but i haven't taken his picture in it yet. he has also moved up to a size 3 diaper...he is getting so big!
