visit with papa t and jack's new toy

my dad, now he is papa t, is down here in mobile working on our friend's house...he is having lots of fun with jack and jack is having tons of fun with his papa t!!
we got jack this new hat at a yard sell that we went to. we thought it was adorable :)

we got jack a new toy today...he LOVES it so far :) he just laughs, jumps, and turns in circles.

my edible arrangement

we brought an edible arrangement that i made to the tapa's party we went to last weekend at house and kelly's. i think it turned out pretty good...if i do say so myself!!

we had a ton of fun at the party and ate a lot of really yummy tapa's. jack did great and slept through the noise of about 15-20 people! i wish i could sleep anywhere like he does :) have i mentioned that he is such a good baby?!?

4 month picture

jack is so much fun to take pictures of...i had to post them all :)
we went for jack's 4 month old doctor's appointment today. he weighs 16 pounds 1 ounce (so he has almost doubled his birth weight) and he is 26 inches long (he has grown 5 inches). he is in the 75th percentile for weight and height!! he did really well with the shots...he didn't cry with the first one, but when she stuck him with the second shot he cried pretty hard :(
the doctor said that he looks great and that we could start giving him rice cereal if we want to. i think we will wait until his 5 month birthday! i don't know if i am ready for it yet :)

jack reached for his toys on his car seat the other day. he is reaching out for everything now and grabbing onto everything. such a big boy :)

a day in the life of a 4 month old...

jack wakes up around 8:00 every morning. he wakes up very happy and usually when i walk in there he is trying to get his feet, but he has a sleep sack on and can't grab them. he then has his first feeding of the day

then he gets his diaper changed and we pick out one of the many outfits of the day...since he spits up a lot now!!

i eat my breakfast while jack plays on his mat. he is pretty quiet in the mornings and just kind of watches me eat and laughs a little while he watches me chew :)

then we take pete for a walk...i usually hold jack because we try to make it quick since it is cold in the mornings

he takes his first nap around 9:30 or 10:00 everyday. jack is a short napper...he takes 30 minute naps all day. which i am glad that he sleeps all night, but i can't get much done in 30 minutes. oh well!!

when he wakes up we play for a bit and then he eats and gets a diaper change. jack loves to try to eat his feet now :)

then after a few hours he naps for 30 minutes again and then it is tummy time. after he plays it is time to eat again.

we go on an afternoon walk with pete (if the weather is nice). jack LOVES this part of the day!! he loves when the wind blows his hair and to watch pete run around.
we play for a little while and then it is time for yet another 30 minute nap.

after he naps it is time to eat again and then johnny comes home and jack gets really excited!! he loves his daddy!

then it is time for his bath...

jack will eat again. we will play quietly for a while and usually take one more small nap before bedtime while we look for houses on the computer

then it is time to go to bed. our bedtime routine is to eat in his room with a lamp on, change into his nightshirt and sleep sack, read a book, get kisses from mom and dad, and then listen to his music light show until he falls asleep

* watching his mom do her hair...he likes the blow dryer

well the family picture didn't turn out great, but it will do. pete was yawning and jack wasn't looking at the camera...oh well!

johnny got me chocolates and pears from harry and david's!! i got johnny a vase that he has had his eye on for a while, but i didn't take a picture of it.

we had a yummy dinner at home this year as a family! we cooked sundried tomato pork tenderloin, mashed potatoes, and salad. then we had a yummy pear for dessert! we watched fireproof...which had a great message, but the acting was not so good. it was a great night!!

our first babysitters!!

johnny and i decided that it was about time that we went out on a date! so we asked our friends house and kelly if they could babysit for us. we went to olive garden and then to blockbuster to rent fireproof (we are going to watch that on valentine's day). we couldn't think of anything else to do so we headed home. it was a nice night! johnny said he felt weird when we were walking into olive garden because he wasn't carrying anything (he always carries jack in his car seat because he is really heavy!).

jack is so much fun to play with! is is so sweet and loves to laugh. he starting to put everything in his mouth!!

we read to jack every night and i took a few pictures last night. he was really into this book (Popcorn) which is funny because this was johnny's favorite book when he was a kid. jack never took his eyes off of it! he is doing really well with going to sleep lately. we read to him after he eats one last time and then play his music light show. he watches it and talks for a bit...maybe whines a little and slowly falls asleep...such a big boy!!

we went out to dinner at felix's with some friends and then went to the pre-party. we had a lot of fun and jack did great!! everybody loved him!

today we were doing tummy time as usual and i went to get the camera that was on the table and when i turned back around jack was on his back! i was so excited and sad that i missed him rolling over for the first time, but he did it again and again after that for me to see! yay jack!!

he has found his feet. he has been working on this for a while and slowly but surely he has learned that he can grab his feet...so smart!
