charlie's first dr's appt

we went for charlie's week dr's appointment on the 12th. he weighed 6 pounds 11.5 ounces. he got his heel pricked to do a newborn screening and to test his billirubin because he looked yellow and his eyes looked yellow to us. the results came back fine.

jack was very concerned when charlie cried so hard after the heel prick. so sweet!!


charlie had his second dr's visit yesterday because he was running what i call a fever, but what johnny called elevated temperature. anyway, it got up to 100.1 and you go to the er for 100.4 (that seems pretty close to a fever to me!). i noticed on wednesday that he was acting really fussy and crying everytime we picked him up...not like charlie. i know i have only known him for 6 days at that point, but i knew that that was not normal. i was an emotional wreck that day and night. i was so scared that he had meningitis. we took his temp every hour during the night and called the dr in the morning. of course when we get to the dr's office his temp was perfect! (thank goodness) he has acted normal ever since and i am so happy!!

we got to weigh him again and he is back to his birth weight (7 pounds 3 ounces). so in 2 days he gained 8 ounces!!
