our 6th anniversary

saturday was our 6th anniversary!! grandma came over to babysit jack so that we could go out. we went to satterfields in cahaba heights for dinner. it was yummy! after dinner we went to the summit and shopped for a bit. we went to restoration hardware and tried out all the couches and chairs...we will just have to dream about them because they are soooo expensive! after we walked around and read magazines we worked up an appetite for our second dessert! we went to 32 degrees and got frozen yogurt.

this year the gift was supposed to be iron or candy. so we gave eachother an iron swing for our backyard (i forgot to take a picture of it) and candy.

i can't believe it has already been 6 years since we got married. in some ways it feels like yesterday and in other ways it seems like a while ago. we have done a lot in 6 years. we have moved twice, got pete, had a baby, and have one about to come! it's been lots of fun and i can't wait to see what this year brings us!

johnny's vacation

johnny had monday and tuesday off this week. jack and i enjoyed every minute of him being with us. we stayed pretty busy. i enjoyed going shopping during jack's naptime!!

we set up jack's other pool that i got at the end of the season last year for $12. it is nice, but i thought it was going to have a bigger slide on it. so i think we will try to get a better pool that is a little deeper. anyway, it works for now. he had a blast playing it and splashing us!!

memorial day

we went to the zoo monday morning and had a great time. it was hot, but we tried to stay in the shade a lot and made the trip faster than normal (love having the membership). johnny wanted to ride the train with jack since he is so into trains right now. jack loves the train ride and is so happy the whole time he is on it.

that night we had grandma over for dinner. we grilled out pork chops, peaches, and corn. it was yummy! then we went for a walk at the botanical gardens to make room for dessert!

random one:

we went to the mall tuesday morning for an indoor activity. we went to let jack ride the carousel, but then we saw this train and he wanted to ride that instead..surprise surprise! it is a little train that rides around the mall. jack waved at all the kids in the mall!

swimming

we took jack swimming tuesday evening. we tried to go to our neighborhood pool, but it was closed (which i guess was a blessing...our neighbor told us that we do not want to go to that pool). anyway, so we went to our friend's old apartment complex. luckily nobody kicked us out!! jack had a great time. he was scared at first, but then he got used to it. he even swam by himself!! i was so impressed and proud.
he only had one major choke which he will tell you about.

he was so brave towards the end that he would jump off the side to daddy!

friday at the zoo

i am going to try to take jack every friday until i can no longer stand it for story time. he sits still and listens to the book and then does the craft. today he loved it because it was a llama llama book. jack has llama llama red pajama and loves that book. today she read llama llama misses mama. i am going to have to get that book before jack starts school...it was so cute. then captain the zoo's llama came to see us. we learned that he weighs about 190 or so pounds, his trainer taught him to give kisses, he is 3 years old, and he likes for you to pet him on his neck.

jack really wanted to dig for dino bones today so that is what we did! they have added a cover to that area so it was nice and shaddy for me! they also have a bench to sit on.

jack also really wanted to ride the train and since he is so into trains right now i decided to splurge and let him ride it. the smile never left his face :)

water table

jack and i got out his water table today. he had a lot of fun! i think he could play in water all day long. he liked pouring the water out to the ground below our porch and listen to the splatter.

i had my doctor's appointment yesterday. i had to bring jack and he did great! he ate his snack in the waiting room and i read diesel 10 (his favorite thomas book). then when we got into the room i gave him the ipad to play with. he just played while i talked to the doctor. then when we listened to charlie's heartbeat i told him that we were going to hear charlie and he looked up and paid lots of attention. so cute! anyway, that was my last doctor's appointment that i have to bring him to because he starts school on june 6th. (i signed him up for the summer program so that i could go to my weekly dr's appts) now i am having second thoughts on that decision because he does so great there with me. i know i will like having the time to myself 2 days a week before charlie gets here but everytime i think about him going to school and me not knowing his every move makes me super sad!! seriously, i almost end up in tears everytime i think about it. i know he will do great and have a great time. i am just imagining him grabbing onto me that first day of school and me having to push him away :( maybe he will just walk on in and do great!! fingers crossed!

this dr's visit i only gained 1 pound in 3 weeks and last appt i had gained 10 pounds in 4 weeks. how is that possible? i didn't do anything different. oh well.

watermelon!!

johnny and i sat up a little pool that we have for jack 2 nights ago. we have a bigger one but we haven't blown that one up yet. anyway, he had a blast!! he was so cute playing in it. that night he went to bed at 8:00 and slept until almost 9:00!! i told johnny that we need to let him play in the pool every night!!


today we went over to andrea and clara's house to play in her pool. on the way there he said "we will play in her pink hippo pool".
later while we were driving he asked what restaurant we were going to...don't know why...anyway, he said "daddy rockets" he knows daddy's name is johnny so i guess he thought we were going to johnny rockets for lunch :)
we have time and time again tried to get jack to try watermelon but he never will. anyway, while we were eating lunch at clara's he saw her eating a slice so he tried a slice and loved it!
