april visitors

my parents, ty, emmie, and frank came this weekend. we had a great time. i was a little tired after all the events that we had going on which may or may not have made my mood seem a little off :) sorry! i just can't do things like i used to. charlie is wearing me out lately!

everybody got here friday after dinner. jack was sooooo excited to see everybody. frank and jack chased pete around until bedtime. it was a lot of fun to watch! poor pete though.

saturday we got up and made a yummy breakfast and then went to the zoo around 10:30. we stayed there until lunch and came home to eat and give the kids a nap. i should have napped with them, but i didn't want to miss out on the shopping trip so i tagged along with mom and emmie to downtown homewood. (we got the best drink though at urban cookhouse. it was a strawberry lemonade). then after naps we headed back to the zoo to see the other half of it. i had to sit down a lot :( i hate missing out!! i really just hate missing watching jack and seeing him see things and talk! but i had to take care of my charlie!
after the zoo we came back to the house and grilled out.

sunday we woke up and made another breakfast. this was after ty left for the indy grand prix in leeds. we let the kids play around here all morning. we had a little easter egg hunt for them. it was fun! jack wanted to open each egg after he found it. after we found them all frank wanted to dump them all out again and start all over. then susan came over for a bit to see everybody.

all in all we had a great weekend and i thank everybody for making the trip over here and seeing jack in his environment. i know he likes to show off all of his toys that he plays with day in and day out. pete has been asleep all day today because he was chased all over this house by the boys!

after everybody left jack played so well and johnny got to watch the masters and i got to take an hour and a half nap :)
last night jack put together his train puzzle all by himself. i was super impressed that he did that!! he was proud too!

24 and 25 weeks

oops! i forgot to post for 24 weeks (sorry charlie). so here ya go...
24 weeks

johnny finally caved in and let jack play with the ipad. jack loves to play the monkey game and to watch johnny play the angry birds game. he is actually pretty good at it. the other day i got it out for him to play and i just put on this game called plasma globe...jack said, "no, i don't want plasma globe." i didn't even know that he knew the name of that game. i thought it was really funny!

25 weeks
i can tell that he is getting bigger and bigger by the way that he is kicking me and flipping around inside of me. it is the weirdest, best feeling in the world!

i went to the doctor monday for my glucose test and i passed!! yay! after i drank the pure sugar orange drink they give you he starting flipping around...so much that my dr. could hardly get his heartbeat. it was kind of funny!

big boy bed

we set up jack's big boy bed yesterday afternoon after his nap. he slept in it last night and did GREAT! we put him to bed at 8:30 and he laid there until 10:00 and finally fell asleep...never once getting out of the bed. (he took a long nap yesterday and when he does that it takes him longer to fall asleep)
this morning he called for me just like normal and did not get out of bed.
i had to make a bumper pad from a sheet or else his extra pacies would fall through. i think i will try to make something cuter for it but for now that works.
we put his bed in the same place as his crib for now and used the same sheets, so that it would feel familiar to him.
it is weird to see him in his big boy bed and not his crib. i can't believe that he is already big enough to sleep in a bed and not a crib. how on earth does 2.5 years go by that fast??
he is taking a nap right now and fell asleep great in it!! i hope he continues to do great in it!

random activities

this is why i drive 30-45 minutes to get work done on our car! the hoover toyota dealership has a great playroom. they have a dvd player with nemo and tons of toys.

we got the excesaucer down from the attic the other day for our friends to borrow for a bit. jack instantly wanted to play with it and get in it. i think it might be hard for him to see all the new baby stuff for charlie!!

jack and i went to the mcwane center the other day. he had a great time except for a few moments.
he was playing with a piece of fake fruit and was about to bring it over to put on the conveyor belt and a bigger kid (maybe about 4 years old) snatched it out of his hands and ran away with it. it broke jack's little bitty heart! he could not stop crying! he could not understand why somebody would snatch something away from him and run away. it was so sad! if i was standing right there i would have said something to the little boy (maybe), but i was sitting on the ground by the conveyor belt and waiting for jack to come back. plus kids have to work out things on their own...although that is really hard for me since i always want to be there by jack's side.

then on the way home jack cried the WHOLE way home because he didn't want to leave the mcwane center. it was a terrible drive home. he was really tired because he woke up at 6:15 that morning. other than those 2 things we had a great morning.

johnny took the day off work yesterday because i had to take my glucose test and didn't want to have jack with me for that long at the doctor's office. so they went to triangle park and had a great time!

sunday school party

this past saturday was our sunday school easter party. we had a great time! they had 2 blow up jumpy houses, a swing set, a sandbox, and bubbles! what more could a kid ask for?? jack had a great time playing with all the other 20 or so kids! we also had an easter egg hunt for the kids. jack actually liked hunting for the eggs this year. we had to distract him from the sandbox, but after we got that off of his mind he really enjoyed himself.

there was so much great food too!! lots and lots of fun. i am so glad that trinity offers a sunday school for new families. we can relate to everybody in our group and will always have something to talk about.

tongue

when jack concentrates his tongue come out! i think it is so cute and funny :)
i wonder if he will do this forever or just for now??
