mother's day weekend

i had a great mother's day weekend!
saturday jack slept in until 8:15! that means that i got to sleep in too!! we made cinnamon rolls for breakfast and then went to the farmer's market. then we went to gilcrest to eat lunch and then we walked around botanical gardens. it was a great morning. after jack's nap we went to get ice cream and then home to grill out.

sunday jack slept in again so we missed early church. so we decided to just go to sunday school. then we went to mellow mushroom for lunch and then to railroad park. it was a good idea in theory to go to the park, but it was sooooo hot! the sun was just beating down on us. so we only stayed there for maybe 15-20 minutes. then last night we had susan and jimmy over to celebrate with us. we made chicken enchiladas, a yummy salad and strawberry pie. it was perfect!

johnny and jack got me a new bathing suit, a nightgown and robe, flowers and charlie got me an ergo baby carrier! jack also got me a woody mother's day card!

i am so blessed to be jack's momma! he is the best little boy ever and it was so nice to hear him tell me happy mother's day all day!


i am also very blessed that i have a wonderful momma who loves me unconditionally! she is my best friend and means the world to me! thanks for all the advice over the years...you don't know how much you mean to me!

i am also the luckiest girl ever to have such an amazing mother in law. i am lucky that we get along great and that we have her here with us in birmingham!

trains

jack spends a lot of his time playing with his train set. santa did a great job! he plays with it on his train table too, but with the extra tracks he likes to build a new track across our den floor. today we took all of the other tracks off the table and built a big track. he does a lot of it himself, but i had to help with the viaduct and hooking it all together. it is so much fun to watch him play.
he wants me to play with him, but it is getting really hard to crawl around on the floor with my big ol' belly!! so i play for a little bit and then i have to convince him to let me sit back and watch. (it is not easy to convince him of that!)

you can kind of see our "new" couch in the background so i thought i would show a picture of it in our den...
our friends are moving to portland in june and were wanting to get rid of it...so we jumped on it and they gave us a great price. jack was not too happy about us getting rid of the sonny's couch...he is so much like me and does not like change. he got over it very quick though!

happy cinco de mayo

we made chicken fajitas for our celebration of cinco de meyo last night. jack requested a cheese quesadilla so that is what he had. of course we put our food on his plate and he eats right around it. i just keep on thinking that one day he will eat our food too. some days he does but very rarely! anyway, we had fun and it was fun hearing jack try to say happy cinco de mayo!!

ice and bath

this is one of jack's favorite things to do. it is so simple too!! ice, spoons, and bowls!

johnny gives jack his baths and they love it! i do the dishes and clean up from dinner while he gives him a bath. it is great daddy/ jack time!!

happy 3rd birthday "fwara"

we went to the zoo yesterday to celebrate clara's 3rd birthday. when clara walked in she told the lady that it was her birthday so they gave her free tokens for the rides. so jack and i joined her on the train.

we walked over to see the sheep and clara's rats and fed the goat. (we got in trouble though because they don't want the goats to associate food with fingers...oops!)

we had a great time celebrating with clara! we went to chick fil a and the park for dinner with her too! and when they got home they got the best present of all....power!! cahaba heights got hit hard wednesday (april 27th) morning from the first round of tornadoes and they haven't had power since. so that was a great surprise to walk into a house with power!!

29 weeks

29 weeks
my doctor's appointment is tomorrow...so we'll see how much i've gained since my last appointment!! i still feel good. i just can't sit on the floor as long with jack and play. i am feeling pretty huge lately though. everybody asking me when i am due is a) annoying me b) making me nervous that is coming up fast.
i want to meet charlie, but i am nervous about how jack is going to deal with having a little brother and how i am going to deal with sharing my love with jack and charlie.
we still need to get charlie's room together. so maybe we will get a lot of that done soon!

big bad wolf

jack got this hat for christmas from robby's brother who lives in south korea. he said that everybody wears them there. jack has really been into the big bad wolf lately. he will say it at the park or the zoo to kids.
