random events of the week

we went to the zoo with beth and maddie yesterday. we haven't seen them in a while so it was good to catch up.

jack liked putting the hard hats on and then dumped them off his head :)

maddie trying on the hard hats.

i let jack eat his snack in a big chair. he loves to sit up there and had fun eating his snack like a big boy!

we blew up jack's ball pit last night after he went to bed and when he woke up this morning he was very happy!! he enjoyed throwing the balls over the goal and through the holes. so far so good on not pulling down the goalpost!

jack is talking more and more! he can make the sheep sound now too! we were talking about mimi and papa coming this weekend and he seems excited!! i am working on him to say mimi since she bugs me about it just about everytime she talks to me (which is everyday)!! frank can already say it and everytime he picks up the phone to play he says "mimi"
i need to get him to say grandma and grandpa on camera too!

fun at kids gym

jack is starting to warm up to trying new things at kids gym. you wouldn't think that it took my crazy man a while to warm up to trying new things but it did. he used to hate the trampoline and would stay away from it. i guess after watching the other kids have so much fun on it he has decided that it is fun! both feet still don't leave the trampoline at the same time, but he'll get there!!

jack likes the ball pit and sometimes takes the ball...

and slam dunks it!

he is even warming up to ms. wendy. he usually won't try all the things that she sets up for them to do, but tuesday he did them!! he did a flip over the bars and he walked up the balance beam mountain and did a dismount!!

mother's day 2010

i had a wonderful mother's day! jack slept late, but i was up early to get ready for church. we were going to go to the 8:45 service but decided since jack was sleeping so well we would just let him sleep and take it slow. so we went to the 11:00 service. we have been going to trinity the past couple of sundays and like it so far. jack did better in the nursery so that's good (no tears).

johnny and i watched slumdog millionaire during jack's nap. that movie is really good!

after jack's nap we went to brookwood mall to shop at ann taylor loft and to pick up jason's deli for our picnic dinner at botanical gardens.

johnny gave me time to myself saturday to shop!! kelly came along with me. we went to anthropologie and forever 21. it was lots of fun! thanks johnny!
jack made me the cutest card for mother's day! and he also gave me a necklace that has his fingerprint on it. i am wearing it in the pics below...

we had fun at the gardens but i will not be taking jack on another picnic if i want him to eat. he was so busy running around and dumping out his food! it's ok though. he ate some when we got home. we just need to take snack picnics :)

here's my other baby!!

all in all it was a great mother's day weekend!

this is just a random picture of jack and johnny playing in the sandbox!

sandbox and hose off

look how much he has grown since we got the swing in august...

want some?

he loves to wreck the sand castles that we build

there were so many good pictures of him playing with the hose...because he is so doggone cute!

jack thought of the idea of stirring up the water with his golf clubs.

pete enjoyed the hose water

as i have mentioned before...jack doesn't like to get his hands dirty (unless it is his doing). so everytime a piece of grass would get stuck to his hand he would try to shake it off but this one got stuck!!

he is so stinking cute!

this is one of jack's favorite spots in the house

triangle park

we went to triangle park the other day and he liked playing music. he also went down the slide all by himself, which he does a lot but this time i was up top and he went down. he did great and found his way back to the stairs each time to do it again!

jack got a haircut tuesday night! yay!

jack really really likes the swings right now. he would stay in the whole time we are at the park if i would let him, but i want him to run around some!

i went to the eye doctor yesterday and they had to dilate my eyes. so i had to wear the silly glasses home over my glasses.

enjoying a cold one with daddy!!

jack has learned to turn the handle to make the music and make the monkey pop out.

some things that i don't want to forget about jack at this age (18 1/2 months):
* new words: momma (finally), cookie, show
* signs: more and all done
* can tell me what he wants and doesn't want by shaking his head when things are offered
* favorites: books, his pacie, taking pete's toys, the wonder pets, olivia, outside
* his comforts: his pacie and rubbing his hair. that is how he has fallen asleep since he was a little baby!
* he has become really shy and will put his face on my shoulder if i am holding him or try to hide his face when he sees "new" people
* pulls our fingers so that we walk with him to what he wants to play with
* knows how to blow his nose (which is a good thing except that he blows it into his hand a lot!)

cardboard box

jack had a lot of fun playing with his daddy the other night with a cardboard box. what is better than a cardboard box?!? you can do so many things with one.
make a hiding place (above)...

play peek a boo...

and act like it is a car!

i was doing the dishes after dinner the other night and heard johnny and jack reading some books. i hurried and got my camera when i saw how cute they were!

jack said momma yesterday for the first time! he has said what i thought was momma in the past, but this time i know it was momma!! yay!

clara's 2nd birthday

clara turned 2 over the weekend! her birthday party was saturday afternoon over at andrea's parent's house. it was a lot of fun! jack had a blast playing in the sandbox! andrea said that it is the single best invention ever and i totally agree. i got jack one last week at toys r us not knowing if it would fit in my trunk or not, but sure enough it did! i can't wait to put it in our backyard and watch him play!

day 1 of clara's birthday celebration:

andrea let the kids decorate cookies and cupcakes and clara LOVED the sprinkles!

jack playing it the sandbox with clara and hudson

see saw!

andrea made the cutest cake for clara...it is flowers on top and the dirt below with worms crawling out of it. so adorable!

we gave her the dora table and a gift card to do it yourself (it's a paint your own pottery place that the kids love)
look how cute clara's outfit is!

day 2 of clara's birthday celebration:

we went to hoover day at spain park after jack's nap. we were going to meet up with andrea and clara but it started raining so we went to i jump instead.
we told jack that we were going to see elmo and he got excited but then when he saw him he held on to me so tight! really....i let go of him with both hands and held himself up around my neck. he was so scared! just like with the easter bunny!

jack absolutely loved i jump! he wanted to go down the slide over and over and would push kids out of the way to go up. he can't do it by himself and it is hard work getting him up the slide, but it is worth it when you hear that little giggle!

this is the only picture i have of the birthday girl's face. oops! she has the cutest shirt on for her birthday that andrea's sister gave her.

johnny and jack going down the slide for the 3 millionth time!
