we went to see thomas the train saturday afternoon with johnny's mom. it was so much fun! we will hopefully get to go next year too!

alone time with jack

i took jack to the zoo by myself last week. we had a lot of fun. there was no rush so we stopped and looked at each each animal and talked about them. he really liked the flamingos this time.

we have been taking full advantage of the beautiful weather. we went to the botanical gardens and it was wonderful. i didn't bring in the stroller and just let jack lead the way. he had so much fun until he realized that he was thirsty!
he played with this gate for like 15 mintues!

i took jack to the mcwane center to play yesterday morning. it was fun but really crowded! i think every school in birmingham was having their field trip!

i let jack play in the sprinkler yesterday afternoon! he had a blast. the water was so cold though...i don't know how he was playing in it

kids gym

we switched to kids gym from gymboree class. it is a lot closer to our house and a good bit cheaper :) he seems to like it but doesn't want to try some of the things the teacher sets up for the kids to do. it is a baby gymnastics class so she lets them hang on the rings, the bar, walk on the low balance beam, stretch during circle time, do back roll overs, and much more. he did what she set up the first week, but now he is scared. he also has been really shy lately with strangers. this is a new thing. when they say hey he hides his face. it is funny! so maybe once he gets used to her and has been going there a while he will trust her. he is one of the youngest ones in the class. the older kids will try the stuff so maybe he just has to be older to do them. we'll see!

spring time!!

johnny and i worked in the yard this weekend. it was actually fun to work together in the yard. we got a topsy turvy!! our fingers are crossed that it will work!

we got a plant for our front porch. i wanted a flower, but johnny wanted a plant. guess who won!

we have been playing cornhole a lot lately and loving it! dad made these for johnny for his birthday.

this is our bee catcher. i really hope it works. i hate bees!!

jack still enjoys digging in the dirt. we went over to andrea's the other day to let jack and clara play together. they have a sandbox and jack played in it for like 30 minutes. it was great. so now i am going to be on the look out for one on craigslist or yardsales.

we went to tcby last night and got jack his very own ice cream! he loved their bubble gum flavor. to me it tasted like pepto bismol. but he seemed to really like it.

easter

this is jack last year!

he was just starting to crawl :)

i made some easter cookies to bring to columbus. we had so much fun in columbus for easter. we got to see ty, emmie, and frank saturday afternoon. frank is a little butterball! he is so sweet. jack woke up earlier than anybody saturday morning (which is weird) and when frank woke up jack walked over to him and gave him a hug. it was so sweet. the sweetness didn't last too long though because they fought over a football and a baseball.

we went to the fair saturday evening and jack really enjoyed it. he is watching the sea lion show with his papa!

jack rode a few rides all by himself!! he looked so cute and did such a great job!! we were all really impressed that he did so good on them

the motocycles scared jack just a bit. we decided that would be his last ride. it was a little bumpy and he couldn't put his feet down. he held it together though. he just had a very worried look on his face

the easter bunny came to see jack! he got an elmo stuffy and book, animal crackers, peeps, a chirping chick, and a swimming duck for the bath

mimi and papa got him some golf clubs for easter and he enjoyed playing with them, but we learned pretty quick that they are outside toys!

we went to johnny's mom's house for dinner. jack got to spend time with this great grandma and his great uncle donald. he really had a lot of fun! he is at such a great age right now. he explores everything and entertains us!
