trip to columbus

we went to mimi and papa's house this past weekend and jack had a blast. of course he went right for the oven toy saturday morning. he slept so good there this time. yay for jack! we went to hollywood connections saturday after jack's nap and had so much fun! jack really enjoyed his time there and so did all the adults!

it is very rainy today and yucky outside so we are not going to go anywhere. so we colored a picture of elmo and some shapes that i drew. jack had a lot of fun!

i thought it was so cute when he laid down to color!! of course pete is right there for all the action. poor dog...if he didn't force us to play who knows if we would play until jack is in bed. he is a good dog and puts up with a lot!!

happy birthday andrea!

saturday night we went out with robby and andrea for andrea's 27th birthday. we had soooooo much fun! susan came over and babysat for us and since i am done nursing she was able to put him to bed. yay! we went to dyron's for dinner and then we went bowling. we haven't had that much fun in a long time! we forgot our camera and so did andrea and robby so we took some pictures at the bowling alley while we waited for our lane. enjoy!

the weather is finally warming up!! yay! johnny went to work saturday but sunday we spent the whole day together :) johnny worked out in the yard some sunday morning after we made french toast. sunday afternoon we went to the botanical gardens to let jack run around.

we had to hold jack's hand hard in this room...it is the cactus room and he wanted to touch them really really bad!

jack loves to get pushed around in his wagon and he decided that he wanted to bring big teddy along for the ride

jack is still really into his legos. he will sit there and play alone for atleast 15-20 minutes. i think this picture is cute because he is sitting indian style. he is a bit ocd about the colors though...

he loves to "help" me with laundry. more like put pants, underware, shirts, etc on his head. he is so silly!

he found this scarf and has been playing with it lately.

i love when he hugs his stuffed animals. it is so sweet! he loves this one because it looks like pete. he is so funny when he sees pete he waves as hard as he can and says "heee". so either he is saying pete or hey. not sure.

jack does say "opa" for open.

he also says "bubba" for bubble.

snot!

i know that is a lovely title for our blog and a lovely first picture, but johnny and i think it is so funny when jack does this. when he sneezes the poor little guy has a gush of snot that comes out and he does this with his mouth...like "oh gross get it off of me!!"
he has been getting his molars in which usually when jack gets a new tooth he gets a runny nose along with it and along with the runny nose comes no sleep! he doesn't sleep as well probably because he is in pain...poor guy! he is so good though, even when he is sick or hurting he just goes with the flow and plays so hard!

pete loves warm clothes!!

jack has watched this video about 10 times in a row...he signs for more every time it is done. so cute!

gymboree class

jack has so much fun at his gymboree class. today was our last day for his level 3 class. next week we are going to move up to the level 4 class!! he will be the younger one in the class instead of the older one in the class which will be good for him i think. anyway, he loves to rock on this horse!

he sat on the big mat and started clapping for some reason today :)

he LOVES all the different balls they have at the gym. he thought these were strange!

he thinks he is so strong when he pushes this huge ball :)

they have lots of tunnels to crawl through and he usually will look up at me with a huge grin on his face when he sees me on the other side, but not today. he was interested in the grooves on this tunnel i think (plus he found a piece of dirt in it and was really into picking it up and handing it to me)

showing his good climbing into something technique...jack is really really good at "going feet first" when i tell him to. i didn't get that on camera of course because if i am telling him to go feet first then it means it is high and i need to be there for him in case he falls. anyway, there is a mat there that is about 5-10 inches of the ground and he is so cute figuring out how to get off of it. he stops, looks down, sits down, gets on his belly, and then goes feet first. i love watching him do this and am so happy that he has caught onto going feet first. i had to teach him that a long time ago when he learned to get on the couch. i wanted to make sure he knew a safe way to get down just in case i wasn't right there with him.

in the boat. all the kids love this thing. i remember having this boat in my sunday school room at the church i went to when i was little. you can turn it upside down to make stairs (bridge).

on a side note:
jack has not nursed in 3 days!! this is a big deal for us. i nursed him for 16 months and 1 week! i am proud of myself and proud of him for doing so well with it. i am sad to be done but happy at the same time. i am ready to be able to let the grandparents watch him for a night and i am sure they are too!! i loved that time with jack and will remember it forever.

another side note:
we have hardwood floors in all the bedrooms! we didn't know we had them until i over flowed the toilet (too much info)! anyway, i did and johnny lifted up the carpet to see how much water had soaked into the pad. when he did we saw hardwood floors!! it is the same hardwood that we have through out the house but it hasn't been stained. so we are planning on refinishing them this summer!

bubbles and books

i bought some bubbles at gymboree class. these bubbles are great because they don't pop right after i blow them. i bought some at walmart a few weeks ago and they don't work as well. anyway, at jack's gymboree class they blow bubbles and i noticed that jack pops them with his finger instead of swating at them with his hands like all the other kids do. pretty smart, huh? until he decides to eat them off of his finger! haha


he is so precious!

i moved jack's chair to a different spot in our den and put his book basket next to it. he loves to lean over like this and then...

read his books. when he doesn't have his pacie in his mouth he really "reads" the book. it is so cute. i will try to get a video of it later.
