our family pictures

when we went to callaway gardens we got some professional pictures taken. i think they turned out pretty good. you would never know that jack was running all over the place and almost jumped in the water like 20 times

charlie's first zoo trip

i took the boys to the zoo wednesday morning. i decided that the weather was too pretty that morning not to go do something outside. so the zoo sounded good to me. jack loves the zoo and we haven't been in a while so i wanted to treat him to a fun morning. charlie was a trooper and stayed in his bucket seat the whole time and never made a peep! it started to get pretty hot so we had to go after only being there a little over an hour...plus it was feeding time!

i can't wait until charlie is big enough to really enjoy the zoo. i can just picture jack telling him about all the animals and showing him all the fun things about the zoo.

we are trying to get rid of the pacie again. before charlie was born we were rid of it (except for bedtime). now we are doing the whole withdrawal all over again. it is HARD on ALL of us! i want to give in and give it to him all the time and he wants it so bad! so we are trying different ways to make it fun for him. he got a cars toy the first day he went without it and then he got another one after going a whole week (he got it on thursday because he was sick). i am going to order him a book and then maybe by the time he is 3 we will get rid of it completely!

one month doctor's appointment

what jack did during the appointment (thank goodness for the ipad)

charlie had his 1 month doctor's appointment this morning.

his stats are:
11 pounds 12 ounces (90th percentile)
23 inches (90th percentile)
head (50th percentile)

about charlie at one month:
* smiling back at us when we smile at him
* reaches for my face
* eats every 2-3 hours
* loves his swing
* loves to be held by his momma
* loves bathtime
* still likes to be swaddled from his chest down
* poops and pees way too much :)
* so far his long nap is when jack is napping (i wonder why), but he sleeps A LOT...no nap schedule yet

happy 29th birthday to me

this is the night before my bday. jack gave me my present early so that we could watch it together.

(molly sent me an edible arrangement and johnny gave me flowers and new clothes)

i started out the day like normal, but jack was being just plain terrible...i hope the terrible two's go away and that we don't have the terrible three's! anyway, we got ready to go to lunch with kelly and lori. jack did great at lunch and so did charlie (thank goodness). after jack's nap he told me that his head hurt. i didn't even know that he could tell me that. he asked to watch a movie and when i sat down next to him to snuggle i could feel his body heat so i checked his temp and it was 101.5. so we just took it easy and waited for johnny to get home and doctor him. as johnny was cooking our dinner i snuggled with jack. then i got up to feed charlie...thank goodness i did because jack threw up all over the place! yuck!
so no pf changs for me. but we will go out next week.

12 pounds??

we weighed charlie last night on our not so good scale. it said that he weighed 12 pounds!! we just can't believe it! that would mean that in the past month he has gained 5 pounds. we get to see on friday how much he weighs at his dr's appointment.

but i did end up getting a few good ones...

we thought that charlie looked just like jack when he was born. i mean i looked at him and said "that is jack!!" but lately we have been saying that charlie really doesn't look like him. until a few days ago when we looked back at some pictures and johnny said "when did you take that one of charlie?" but it was jack :) so they do have some similarities but they are different in a lot of ways too.
