our baby is definitely crawling!

jack has definitely got the hang of crawling...he likes to crawl toward things he shouldn't have (like my purse, computer, cell phones, camera, etc)

standing all by himself...he can stay this way for about 30 seconds to 1 minute

he can even stand up by himself for a bit...it scares us though because he falls pretty hard. we try to be there just in case, but sometimes we don't catch him in time :(

on the beach...it was so windy and a little chilly.

in a pool for the first time. he hated it! it was a heated, indoor pool so we thought that he might really like it since he loves his bath. we were wrong! he cried! when he got out i held him and he held on so tight to my shirt. we just hope that he likes the lake this summer.

this is a video of jack crawling. he is still pretty slow, but he is getting the hang of it! i think he is doing pretty good since he just started crawling last night (4-20-09)

about jack at 6 months old:

* staying up for longer periods of time in between naps

* likes for me to act like i am going to eat his fingers
* loves all the many funny faces his dad makes
* still loves pete (and his toys..yuck)
* likes for the wind to blow in his face
* still can't hold a pacie in his mouth by himself...although is is getting better at it
* we cut his toenails for the first time today
* wakes up 1 time in the middle of the night to eat...i can handle that!
* loves for you to put lotion on him after a bath...he gets this look like "ahh that feels nice"
* needs a haircut
* is still the sweetest baby in the world

jack in his excersaucer. he really likes it...especially the ice cream cone and the smile mirror. he actually has a nice shiner on his right cheek right now from the purple ball tunnel. we haven't taken a picture of that yet.

jack and his buddy pete...they are going to be best friends one day! pete loves to lick jack's hands and face (it is good germs!!)

we had a scare the 5th. johnny was on his way back from the beach (he went to a bachelor party saturday night and came back sunday...his first night away from jack) and i was sorting laundry in jack's room. i put jack on the floor next to me and about 2 minutes into his playtime he started screaming a cry that i have never heard. i tried everything to get him to stop and none of my "tricks" worked. i was so scared!! so after talking to johnny and my mom i decided to drive to the emergency room. i had jack in just a diaper because i was checking for bug bites and i was in my pjs still. i turned on my hazards and drove as fast as i could and still be safe. i was hysterical!! anyway, about half way there jack stopped crying. so when i got to the er and told the lady at the desk that he was crying hard at home she said "are you sure about that?" after much debate i decided to go home. i called my friend michelle to come and sit with me and jack because i didn't want to be alone. johnny got home about 30 minutes later. i called the doctor the next day and talked to the nurse. she said that she would rule out an ear infection, but it could have been either gas or a tooth coming in. we haven't heard that cry since then and i hope i never hear it again. my poor baby was hurting from something and i had no idea what it was...it was terrible!!

big teddy!

we threw michael and michelle a wedding shower with some of our friends on march 31st. they love cinnamon rolls so we made them a cinnamon roll wedding cake! it turned out really good and yummy!

jack loves his glowworm that mimi and papa t gave him for easter. i used to have a glowworm when i was a little girl and i loved mine.

jack with my stuffed animal, big teddy. i got big teddy when i was about 2 or 3 and slept with it everynight until i got married to johnny and he put a stop to that. so big teddy sleeps beside me on a table.

i think jack really looks like johnny in this picture. there are some pictures of johnny when he was little making that face. i think jack has my eyes and johnny's mouth.

jack is so active! he is trying really hard to crawl and can slowly make it to his toys (you can see in one of the videos below).
johnny is at a bachelor party right now at the beach. he left yesterday at 11:00 am. i have had fun with jack by myself, but i am worn out. i don't know how single moms do it!! having johnny gone really makes me realize how much i really do need him. i am sure jack will be really excited to see him!

he has such determination!! it takes him a while, but at least he made it :) he is getting so big.




this video was taken a few days after the other video. jack can get his legs in the big boy crawling position sometimes, but can't figure out how to move his arms too. so he crashes!!
