one month checkup

jack had his one month doctor's appointment today. he weighs 10 pounds 14 ounces!!!! he is 22.5 inches long. we have a big baby boy :)

he did really well at the doctor. he looked all around in the waiting room and loved the lights. he had his second round of hep b and cried just a little bit. he also had to have his heel pricked for some testing. johnny held him for that and he did ok... he didn't like it much :(

he has just been very tired today from such a busy morning.

he has some visitors for a few days now and is being a very good baby...he met johnny's sister (mary) and neice (molly). we'll post pictures with them later.

jack is one month old today! i can't believe that he is already a month old. he is more active now and he turned his head really well the other night from left to right when we were having tummy time. i didn't get it on the camera because well i didn't know he was going to do it so well. he is smiling more and talking to us. he loves his swing and he enjoys car rides. jack is sleeping in his own crib now instead of in our room. he did really well the first night, but had gas and spit up the next night (so not so good). oh well...we have our good nights and our bad :)

johnny is at his interview for south today. so that could be why it was so bad because i tried to let him sleep so i was on jack duty all night. johnny called me at lunch and said that the interviews are going well. hopefully they will go ok everywhere else.

grandpa and rise's visit

jim and rise came to visit this weekend...jack really liked them and responded to their voices! we ate really good food while they were here and really enjoyed having them here. pete of course loved having visitors here!

jack is starting to really look at us and he is starting to figure out he has a voice. he makes "ah" and "ooh" noises.

3 weeks old tomorrow

jack will be 3 weeks old tomorrow!! we weighed him at home last night after he ate and our scale said he weighed 10 lbs. granted our scale doesn't give an accurate reading all the time and he just ate probably 4 or 5 ounces of milk. so we figure that he weighs about 9 lbs 8 ounces. we might bring him in to weigh him tomorrow...we'll see. he still has his cord. we are waiting for that thing to fall off any day now. we had our best night of sleep last night since we came home :)

pete is still doing really well with him. he likes to sniff him and come when he cries. he jumps down off our bed in the middle of the night to see what is going on in his room. it's really sweet!!

jack's first outing...we went to michael's craft store to get yarn to start crocheting. our friend kelly taught us how and now we are addicted :)

yes even johnny is into it. we laughed yesterday because johnny wore a pink shirt, baked a quiche, used a pink oven mit and crocheted...i love my husband!!

we went over to our friend jason's apt to watch the alabama game and jack tried to show off on a blanket but fell asleep instead :) tough life!! pete played really hard with us and took a snooze next to his little brother!

this is jack on his tummy time mat. he is starting to work really hard at holding his head up and scooting. he is getting pretty strong! when he lays on our stomach/chest he can really hold his head up for a few seconds. he is starting to follow objects with his eyes and is way more alert now. he is testing out his voice by cooing. he is the sweetest baby ever!!

2 weeks old

we went to the pediatrician for jack's 2 week check up yesterday. he weighs 8 pounds 12 ounces!! we were very excited that he weighed so much. we set up his playmat for him being 2 weeks old yesterday. of course he didn't really do too much on it, but he will eventually.

we had a lot of firsts this week and will have lots more firsts to come!!!

here is our little JACK-o-lantern!! we had a very relaxing halloween this year. we drove to walmart and got a pumpkin since the pumpkin patch that we tried to go to had a bad batch of pumpkins this year and was closed. we went to zea's and got a good meal to go. after dinner jack watched us carve our pumpkin.
