bath time

we gave jack and charlie a bath together for the first time last night.
they kind of ignored eachother. oh well! jack did play in charlie's tub with his toys. maybe we should wait a while before they take baths together.

7 months old

* started to not nurse him to sleep yesterday (he did pretty well with it...only cried for a few minutes before i went in to put the pacie back in his mouth and he fell asleep instantly)
* rolls all over the place
* not crawling yet...stretches to each side until he finally gets to the toy that he wants (or rolls to the toy)
* loves to eat, whether it be nursing or baby food.
* favorite baby food seems to be the fruit (apples, pears, oatmeal with apples), but also loves sweet potatoes and carrots
* least favorite baby foods are peas and squash

* no teeth
* still wears a size 3 diaper
* wears 6-12 month clothes
* he is still my chunky baby but he is thinning out :(
* still wakes up 3 times in the night to eat!! ugh! i am trying the cry it out thing to go to sleep, but can't do it in the middle of the night because jack will wake up. last night he went a 4.5 hour stretch, but then woke up 2 hrs in between feedings to balance it out :) atleast he goes right back to sleep after eating
* loves to watch and listen to jack and has started to laugh at him in the car (so so cute)
* takes 2 naps a day (10:00 and 1:00)
* goes to bed around 7:30 or 8:00
* still the happiest baby i have ever seen!

charlie loves to play on the ground and roll around! he rolls and rolls around our den. i really have to keep jack's toys away from him. luckily most of jack's toys don't have small parts.

pete has figured out a way of making us play with him. he puts his toy right next to charlie so that we have to throw it so charlie won't eat it. smart dog!

jack built a bridge from the ottoman to the chair.

he put pillows under the cushion so that the cushion doesn't collapse. i thought that was really smart!!

jack asked to hold charlie (very rare)...and then he drove a train on his head

we went to the mcwane center (i tried to talk jack into going to the park, but he really wanted to go to the mcwane center instead) i am glad we went because we had so much fun!

we played candy land (jack is not the best sport...he HATES it if i go into the lead) i had to quit playing because i get so mad that he is such a sore loser.

we made alien cookies (jack's idea)

we went to the park on saturday morning to enjoy the beautiful february weather. i am LOVING this weather and wish it would stay this pretty the rest of the winter!

i loved watching him have so much fun throwing stuff into the puddle. it was something i would have done as a little girl. he was such a good boy though and never jumped in it!!

i can't believe that in 6 (well almost 7) short months that my boys have grown up so much!

jack looks so much older to me! he no longer has a pacie and is (i would say) completely potty trained! my big boy!

i read this today and thought of my jack jack. i do always wonder if i am doing a good job raising him to be a good boy. when he asks why do i have to be a good boy? i say so you grow up to be a good man. i pray that he does. i believe that God will use his insistent personality for good one day.

this story just popped into my head...one day there was a dying roach in our hallway so instead of smacking it with a shoe (we didn't want to wake up the boys) johnny put a cup over it. so all day i told jack to go around the cup and when daddy gets home he will kill it. jack said, "don't kill it because God made it." how sweet is that?

lately jack has been saying that about a lot of things...
today i started singing the opening song from the cat and the hat show that comes on pbs. we were about to go to school. here's how our conversation went
me: here we go go go go on an adventure the thing-a-majiger is up and away.
jack: don't sing that.
me: why?
jack: because we don't have a thing-a-majiger
me: well we can pretend that our car is the thing-a-majiger
jack: no we can't because God made our car a camry!

i thought that was too funny!

anyway, i know i will pray for God to help jack behave and mind me and johnny a lot, but i will for sure add praying for God to help me raise a God- following adult!

a bunch of randomness

we went over to grandma's house saturday night to have a snowman party. jack had fun helping grandma decorate the cake.

i went to publix today and got all of this for $98! i saved $87!!
i would have saved what i spent if i didn't buy the wuggle pets thing for jack.

my dad built charlie his bookshelf (my dad builds all the grandkids something for their room). this one is my favorite (shh...don't tell all the other grandkids)

my happy boy loves his excersaucer!

we have the book hermie and my parents have the movie. it is about a caterpillar who says that he is just ordinary, but God says that he is still working on him and then one day he becomes a butterfly and is not so ordinary anymore. so when we go to columbus, jack usually wants to watch the movie. anyway, the other day he said, "how do i look". i said cute or something like that. he said, "no, say ordinary".

he asked it a few more times then walked over and got two pillows and said, "how do i look now?" and i said beautiful...i knew that he was pretending to be a butterfly. so cute!!

we had robby, andrea, clara, and joseph over for dinner last night. after dinner the kids watched a show. they were so cute!! (another picture to save for their rehearsal dinner)

then we let the baby boys join in the fun :)

i was taking pictures of charlie in his outfit for his 6 month pictures and jack of course had to be in the pictures. he was being so sweet though!
(too bad i didn't wipe jack's face from lunch)

i am really loving the fact that jack is starting to talk to charlie and wanting to be right there with him. it is nothing like how girls are with babies, but it is getting better than it was. i know they will be best buds soon and jack will be teaching charlie all kinds of things!

quick trip to columbus

i went to columbus on thursday so that we could get charlie's 6 month pictures taken on friday. jack had a blast and ate more bob's peppermint balls than any little boy should eat! jack also DID NOT want to leave mimi and papa's house! so we decided that he needs to go for a weekend to stay with them soon!
we got portable dvd players for the boys for christmas from my parents and finally got to use it. jack was so excited that we got to watch a movie in the car. this will come in handy once naps are over, but he still sleeps most of the way to columbus. it was raining on the way there so i think it woke him up earlier than normal. he got to watch the lion king and was loving it!!

on 1-24-12 jack put his pacies in a baggie and put them under his pillow for the pacie fairy to give to babies in pacieland!! it was actually his idea. monday afternoon he put his car pacie in his mouth and was talking to his teacher, ms. marcia and she said that she couldn't understand him with his pacie in his mouth. so on the way home i told jack that people can't understand what he is saying with it in his mouth and then he said, "maybe the tooth fairy could come and get them." i don't know where he came up with this, but i was just going to go with it. so i said that the pacie fairy could come and get it. he was excited and was all for it, but he did say, "i have to be older so i can do it tomorrow."
after we put jack to bed tuesday night i got a tad bit teary eyed thinking about my baby boy growing up.
he has been doing GREAT with it. he has only somewhat asked for it once. we were in the car on the way to columbus and he said, "babies need small pacies and big kids need bigger pacies so i need a big pacie." i said no buddy they don't make them that big! and he hasn't said anything since. he sleeps all night and goes to sleep great. he did miss his nap on wednesday but that is because it was a school day and on school days going down for a nap is always hard for some reason. he has woken up a little earlier some mornings, but that is ok.

the pacie fairy left him $5 which he calls "a $5 money bill".

we brought him to toys r us wednesday night and told him he could pick out whatever. he picked a drawbridge with salty the train.

johnny turned 29 on the 17th and i am just now getting around to posting about it! we were going to celebrate his birthday the weekend before his birthday but we had to reschedule because charlie just wasn't over his rsv and we were both WAY too tired to host a party.

grandma came over tuesday to babysit so we could go out to eat together. we both needed the time together with out the kids! we went to surin and it was delicious and relaxing! i love our kids but i also love my husband and i needed that time where i could focus on him. i still hurried through my meal because that is what i am used to these days, but i enjoyed every bite.

saturday we had some friends over for a party and had a lot of fun and stayed up late (well if you consider 11:30 late)!

jack loves to make what he calls his "secret tunnel". i love that he is using his imagination but it is kind of annoying sometimes when he wants to use the one behind my back! now i know why my cousin, amy, told me to get a couch that doesn't have a lot of cushions or pillows :) but he is a boy and he HAS to build forts and tunnels...it's a must!

to say i am obsessed with pinterest is an understatement! i love all the ideas i get from it. here are a few activities that i have done with jack this past week. poor buddy has been a bit neglected because of me taking care of charlie. i tried to come up with something fun for him to do. pinterest helped with that!

so simple and so much fun... pipe cleaners and a strainer!!

wednesday i called the pediatrician to ask about bringing charlie in because he was breathing really fast and had a fever. he was breathing about 80 times a minute. when we got to the dr. they immediately did a RSV test and it came back positive. they did a blood test to check for infection and they did a chest xray to check for fluid in his lungs. both came back fine. i wanted to cry but knew that i had to stay strong (mainly for jack). then i had to give him a breathing treatment. jack was a perfect angel the whole time and was asking lots of questions to the nurse :) charlie was pretty pitiful there and cried a lot. poor buddy!

he wasn't nursing hardly at all so that meant that he wasn't wetting diapers. he went from midnight thursday until 10:45 the next morning without wetting a diaper. i got scared so i called the pediatrician to ask how concerned i should be about this and the nurse said to call back at 3:00 to let her know about how many he has wet. he only wet one, but she said that was fine. thank goodness...i did not want to go to the hospital with him to get fluids!

since then he has continued to be pretty pitiful and not sleeping really well. johnny and i have hardly slept in 5 nights! we are tired and very short tempered with jack and eachother. thursday and friday i gave him a breathing treatment every 4 hours. i have only done one today.

today:

i think he is getting better! his fever is gone and he seems happier. he is still fussy and not eating as well as he did before. he is still wheezy and coughing a lot, but i think he is getting better. (well atleast i hope so)

we went to cracker barrel last weekend to celebrate johnny's mom's birthday. jack was really looking forward to going and even drew grandma a birthday cake with candles and all. i really wish i would have taken a picture of that drawing...it was really good and he did all by himself except for the writing.
this is after the waiters sang happy birthday...we had no idea that they sang at cracker barrel. (sorry for jack's messy face and dazed look)

sahm playtime

one of the things i find hard about being a sahm is not feeling guilty about cleaning instead of playing with my boys. i know that part of my job as a sahm is to be a housekeeper too. i don't know how some moms keep such a clean house. i feel like my house is always a mess! jobs i do just about everyday are the dishes and laundry. if i get those done everyday i feel like i am doing ok :)

i know that jack already gets a little (or a lot) less attention since charlie was born. so when i am not nursing charlie or putting him down for a nap or holding charlie i try my hardest to make time for some sort of activity with jack. maybe it is something as simple as reading a book or snuggling with him to watch a show, but atleast we are together.

i just hope that he doesn't feel left out or neglected...i don't think he does. jack kind of makes me make time for him :) i always say that i can't even go pee with out him!! ha! but really he follows me around this house like my little shadow. you can only imagine how hard it is for me to put charlie down for a nap with a 3 year old who is super loud.

lately he seems to understand that he has to be quiet for charlie. before he runs through the house with his dumptruck he says "can i run super fast or is charlie asleep?" i think that is very kind of him. he also knows to tip toe and whisper when charlie is still asleep when going to the potty.

little things that i do with jack (that we are spending time together) are to let him help me throw the laundry in the washer or dryer, color, helping me clean up the toys, play trains, build blocks, he brings me cars and we let them talk to eachother, etc.

i do let him watch way too much tv. that should really be one of my goals this year. i really want him to just watch a few shows a day. there are days like today where he watched way too much because he has a cold and just doesn't really feel like doing much and i think that is ok, but other days i am going to really try to only let him watch a show during certain times of the day...when we wake up, lunch, after nap, and before bed. i hope i can do it!

i hope i am a good sahm...some days i do better than others i am sure. i love my job and would never trade it for any other job...even on the tantrum after tantrum days :)

how is charlie already half a year old?? i wish time would just stop sometimes! he is the sweetest baby and almost always has a smile on his face.

about charlie at 6 months:
* 19 pounds 11 ounces (75%)
* 28 1/2 inches (97%)
* rolls like a champ
* sleeping on his tummy (i don't like that one bit!)
* goes to sleep at 8:00. wakes up around 11:00, 2:00, and 5:00 to eat
* wakes around 7:00 or 8:00 to start the day
* naps 3 times a day (1 - hour nap in the am, 1 - 2 hour nap in the afternoon and 1 - hour nap in the evening)
* barely sitting up
* eats rice cereal, apples, and carrots (but not very well)
* starting to laugh at jack
* still wears size 3 diapers
* wears 6-12 month clothes

we got to meet joseph on new year's day! andrea had him on the 30th and he had some trouble breathing and spent some time in the nicu. he is a fighter though and got out of there early :)

they are home now and doing great!

we had a happy eastern time new year's eve party this year. johnny wanted to have people over but with the already little amount of sleep i get i couldn't even think about hosting a party until midnight. so we watched the ball drop at 11:00 and went to bed soon after everybody left.

we got some recipes from pinterest for our party.

* baked tomatoes
* pepperoni and cheese wrapped in a crescent roll
* nutella rice krispie treats
* sweet and spicy pecans

right after we both fell asleep fireworks went off so we wished eachother a real happy new year and fell back asleep!

charlie is starting to lift his bottom when he is on his tummy...johnny predicts that he will be crawling in less than a month!

jack is getting better at coloring...see he colored the dirt in the dumptruck and somewhat stayed in the lines. he loves to color with markers!

we got a new ottoman with the christmas money from johnny's dad. jack had a good time helping screw on the legs. it is a lot bigger than our old one and has storage on the inside.

we went to the park to let jack ride his scooter. it was a beautiful day!

we let charlie try carrots...i don't think he was a fan. he made a huge mess and i don't think he swallowed any of it! i tried apples with him today...he seemed to like them better (he didn't make a terrible face), but he would rather spit them all over the place than to eat them :) it's a slow process!

johnny and jack made a yummy pizza together last night. johnny made the crust from scratch...back to the old days!

i got to test out my new stroller that we got for christmas from my parents and johnny's mom. i LOVE it! it is a joovy. it rides so smooth and jack really likes it...in fact he was jealous of clara testing it out yesterday!

we went to zoolight safari again with grandma. it wasn't as crowded so we really got to see the lights.

jack has loved the box from the stroller. he says that it is his boat. we got out the markers he got from santa and decorated his boat. i drew a steering wheel and jack drew a horn...here he is honking his horn

we woke up around 7:30. luckily jack is not at the age where he can't sleep because he is too excited. i bet we will be there next year though! so when he woke up we told him that we needed to go to the den to see what santa brought him. (charlie was still asleep)

christmas eve

our christmas eve celebration started with going to our church's christmas eve service. it was adorable! the kids got to dress up as people or animals from the christmas story. then they got to walk up to the nativity during their part of the story.
jack chose to be a king!

after church we went to grandma's house to eat chinese dinner and open gifts. we started drawing names last year with jimmy, mary, darryl, sonny, us, and grandma. it works out pretty well and everybody gets to give a "bigger" present...

sonny gave jack one of his really nice trains. jack won't really get it until he is older and more responsible.

this year we got to skype with mary, darryl and molly. it was a lot of fun!

then we came home and let jack set out cookies and milk for santa and sprinkle the reindeer food on the lawn for the deer.

christmas in columbus

we went to columbus from the 21st-24th. we had a lot of fun!

jack and frank played well together. they are so different though...the minute jack walks into mimi and papa's house he is dumping out every toy bin in the playroom. frank on the other hand could care less. he would be perfectly happy playing with just the train track and one train the whole time. they both love thomas the train and gummies!

so far mamie and charlie are pretty similar :) mamie is just plain adorable and so tiny! it is funny the different body types of a boy and a girl. you can just tell she is a girl by her frame and that charlie is a boy by his.

we had to share a room with jack and charlie...and pete. i wish we had a picture of how my parents set up our room. it actually worked out fine, but i am so thankful that my boys have their own room at our house. a couple of times we caught jack either trying to get something out of charlie's crib or putting something in his crib.

when we were all packing up our stuff that was ALL over my parents house jack and frank were playing together a little too well...jack was feeding frank a poisonous plant!! luckily it is more poisonous to animals than humans and we don't think that he actually swallowed any of the leaf. crazy boys!

it was a lot of fun to all be together!!

rise, philip, and becky's visit

rise, becky, and philip came to visit us and jimmy for christmas and to meet charlie. we had a lot of fun! jack really had a lot of fun and loved philip :)

we went to botanical gardens to let jack kick a ball around and just to get out of the house.

johnny can't stand to sit around the house. so guess where we went along with the rest of birmingham...the galleria! it was crazy! jack liked riding the carousel.

we baked cookies a couple of weeks ago and i am just now posting about it. we have been pretty busy in the ross house!

rolling out the dough with him was a little stressful to me. we started a little too late (right at bedtime) so he was a little demanding and didn't listen very well. it was still lots of fun and a great memory. i told johnny that i hope he still wants to decorate cookies with me when he is older.

andrea told me about a great way to let kids decorate cookies. you just mix up egg whites and food coloring...i also added some water to it. then jack got to paint the cookie dough. he thought it was pretty cool :)

we gave charlie rice cereal on the 16th. he did surprisingly well with it! johnny thought that he would not do very well because he doesn't like a bottle. he actually ate about half of the bowl and then lost interest. we haven't tried since then because...well...we've been busy. we will try again tonight.

we had our mama and me christmas party today...it was lots of fun! anyway, as we were leaving the house jack decided that he needed to wear his santa hat and what he called mittens (my socks)!
once we got there, he took everything off...i guess he was either embarrassed or hot (it is 72 degrees outside today!! 10 days till christmas and it is 72 degrees outside...i LOVE it!!)

harry our elf brought jack a box to put his pacies and a letter. when we got up this morning he noticed where harry was and what he had beside him. johnny got up before me and read the letter to him. then when i got up i read it to him again and before i could say "love, harry" jack said "and he said love harry at the bottom!" he thought it was so cool to get something from harry!

so far so good!!

hopefully this will work for us. he has become a bit obsessed with them lately. we hope this will encourage him to sleep without one too!!

we put charlie's swing up :( this makes me sad to think that i might not ever use it again. charlie needs to seriously slow down the growing up process! he takes all of his naps in his crib now...good job buddy!

charlie out grew his other tub. he was trying to sit up in it so we thought we should put it up and get out the other tub i got at a consignment sale. i really like both of the tubs that i got for charlie.

charlie's new tricks

he is starting to sit up...not for very long...like 5-10 seconds, but we are getting there!

charlie loves to grab his feet! i need to bring my camera back to his room when i change his diaper because that seems to be where he eats his feet the most. it is so cute!

he is rolling over a ton! he started out in the middle of the playmat and ended up way over there. he is also rolling over on his tummy at night in his crib. it is so annoying because he can't figure out how to get back to his back...i guess he is too tired to try. he is kind of a spaz when he is on his tummy. he likes to rub his face on what he is laying on. he will even spit up and just lay his face right in it! charlie is the prime example of why you put babies to sleep on their backs!! so it makes me nervous when he rolls to his tummy in the night. i have to stand there until i know he is good and asleep. i told johnny in the middle of the night that we might have to invest in a camera monitor. we'll see.

we went to visit santa a week ago. jack brought his letter to santa telling him what he wants for christmas...

he wasn't so sure about him at first. he was super excited about going, but once we got there he just didn't want to sit in his lap alone. so i held his hand for a minute and then wiggled free for the picture. as you can tell, he wasn't too worried for very long! charlie of course did great.
the lady taking the picture kept calling him "little sister". i asked johnny afterward if he has ever seen a little girl wearing a truck before?? oh well! he is a pretty baby!!

i got this idea from none other than pinterest....i love pinterest! it is jack's handprints and fingerprints and charlie's footprints. i was going to let charlie do some lights on the tree too but his little fingers would not cooperate!

jack decorated his 2011 ornament...i am also planning on doing some other type of ornament, but haven't had a chance to do it with him yet.

he was so proud of it. he picked the colors because those are thomas' colors. he even tried to do red stripes :)

also, i love how jack has decorated our tree this year...ornaments on top of ornaments on top of ornaments!!

and i changed my mantle decoration. i decided to only do one line..2 was just a little much. i really like how it turned out. Child is in red glitter so it stands out more :)

my boys are for sure brothers, but to me they don't look completely alike (like they did at birth). charlie has smaller ears, bigger cheeks, smaller feet, smaller eyes, bigger upper lip, darker hair, baby soft hair (jack's was coarse), and more. then there is their personalities...so far charlie is a lot more laid back and always happy! jack was always ahead of the game with milestones. he was rolling over at 3.5 months, sitting up at 5, crawling at 6, and walking at 9! charlie is right on track for milestones.

i got this idea from pinterest. i might redo it though. i wish that i would have bought smaller letters. i also might make it one line and just let it say "a Child is born". we'll see. but for now here it is...

we don't put our stockings on the mantle until christmas eve right after before the kids go to bed because jack pulled a stocking hanger on his head when he was 1 and it scared me half to death! those things are way to heavy to fall on a baby's head! so now i don't take any chances.

we decorated our gingerbread house last night. jack was super excited! he wanted to put the chimney on so bad...i guess because we've been talking about santa coming down a chimney! he picked up the gingerbread man and said "run run as fast as you can, can't catch me i'm the gingerbread man!" it was cute! he did a great job and didn't even ask to eat the candy. he tried the icing...which johnny said tasted like playdoh. then at the end we let him have some of the candy...you can't make a gingerbread house and not eat some of the candy!!

charlie somewhat watched us make it. he was more into grabbing stuff off of the table!

charlie has almost been here for half a year! crazy! he is the best baby and always happy (except for right now...he has yet another cold and is teething...not a fun combo).

i get compliments all the time about him being so good :)

about charlie at 5 months:
* rolling over from tummy to back
* loves to grab his feet
* smiles all the time
* is ticklish
* teething
* still won't take a bottle, but i got the NUK brand of bottles hoping that he would think they are his pacies!
* wears size 3 diapers still
* hardly wears size 3-6 month clothes
* nurses 8 times a day still
* wakes up atleast twice a night still (if he wakes up in between feedings either me or johnny will put the pacie in his mouth). i know i need to try to let him cry it out, but i swear we have only had like 2 weeks in between colds and well it just breaks my heart to listen to him cry! i wish i could be tough!!
* takes a morning nap, an afternoon nap, and an evening cat nap
* goes to bed at 8:00 and wakes up for the day around 7:00 or 8:00

jack, charlie, and i played hookie from mama and me tuesday and went to mcwane center instead. i just wanted a day with my boys! we had a lot of fun despite all the field trips...either they have field trips everyday or else i always pick the day with tons of them!!

jack always goes to the space ship first...i think this is one of his favorite things at the mcwane center! it is one of those machines that flattens a penny and puts a design on it.

then he found this fun table...

he played with a little boy for a while. i would guess the little boy was 7 years old. and he was the nicest boy! every time jack would loose his ball he would reach over without saying anything and put it right back in front of jack. very kind! other boys that came to the table could care less about jack and would take balls from him. i hope jack is like the first boy when he is 7!

charlie has loved grabbing his feet lately. he noticed his feet on 11-27-11

charlie rolled from his tummy to his back today (12-1-11). he did it before, but i think it was an accident. i think today he was trying to do it!

he also took his afternoon nap in his crib and has now been asleep for 2 hours! maybe our swing days are over :(

can't leave out big brother...

who i would say is almost completely potty trained! i can't even remember the last time he has had an accident or even woke up with a wet pull up! (well he did wake up sunday with a wet one but that is our fault...johnny said he heard him saying he wanted to get up, but ignored him because he was tired and i was sleeping so hard that i didn't even hear him)

thanksgiving

we started off thanksgiving day with watching the parade and eating cinnamon rolls :)

we went to johnny's mom's house for thanksgiving along with johnny's grandma, uncle donald, jimmy, sonny, and sue. it was a lot of fun and the boys did great!! jack ate a picnic on the floor while we finished up cooking. then he took a nap while we ate our lunch. charlie sat in his swing like a perfect little angel while we ate.

i made a pumpkin cheesecake from southern living. it was good, but i like normal cheesecake more. cheesecake is super easy to make too...i always thought it was too hard to even try!

he is so sweet and just the best baby. i get compliments all the time about how calm he is and what a good baby he is. he rarely cries and if he does it is more of a whine than a cry...except when he is absolutely starving or got hurt.

last wednesday the boys and i took a trip to columbus because johnny went to vegas for a conference. i didn't want to be alone and thought my parents house would be the best place for us to go! jack had a blast!! charlie did great and i had lots of help. win win win!

tuesday we had our halloween party at mama and me. jack kept on his costume almost the whole time. i am feeling guilty for not being more creative with the boys costumes this year, but with a 3 year old, 3 month old, birthday party, baptism, interviews for fellowship, and more i thought i just couldn't make them one. maybe next year. and next year i am waiting until the last minute because jack has decided that he wants to be a pirate. he talks about being a pirate a lot, but we got his costume early in october to be ahead of the game. oh well!! he's not too upset to be thomas :)

this post is way overdue! i just had so many pictures to chose from! plus jack and charlie have not been napping together :( so now i am blogging while i nurse and while the tv babysits jack!! oh well...sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

i had the boys some outfits made by my friend lindsey. i started out just wanting to get jack a train shirt made for his party and then i just had to get charlie a matching shirt. then i wanted pants to go with it. then i thought that a christmas shirt with that same red gingham fabric would look great. it was like if you give a mouse a cookie!! i think everything turned out great and i am so excited about letting them match while i can!!

i guess i will have to get a valentines day shirt made, huh?

silly faces

we went to dinner with robby, andrea, and clara last night. the kids sat at the head of the table and made silly faces at eachother and acted just plain silly in general. they did great though and we got to have adult conversations!!

this baby eats his hands all day!
(and makes himself gag on his fingers)

3 year and 3 month appointment

i took the boys to their doctor's appointment this morning. they did great!! jack was so good in the waiting room and just looked at some books i brought with me. first they got weighed and measured.
jack's stats:
* 32 pounds (50th percentile)
* 38 inches (50th percentile)

charlie's stats:
* 15 pounds 10 ounces (90th percentile)
* 25 inches (90th percentile)

then she pricked jack's finger. he didn't cry and stayed really still for her to fill the tube. after waiting a few minutes and going potty and building bridges and going up and down off of the table the doctor came in. jack was SO cute when he was doing his exam. first he checked his ears and throat. then he checked his heart and then laid him down and checked his belly and privates. he said he looked great! jack answered all of his questions. then jack said, "i like your tie with fish on it" and the doctor thought that was so sweet!

charlie's turn was next. he listened to his chest for a while because he has a cold, but said that it didn't sound bad. he checked his ears and throat and his privates also. he loved how chunky he is!!
he said that they both look great! love hearing that!!

next up was the flu shot. no shots for charlie today thank goodness. i know that he already feels bad from his cold and i didn't want to add to that.
so i got my shot first and then jack got his. he did SO good! the nurse asked if he wanted it in his arm or leg. he picked leg. the we asked which leg and he picked and she did it super fast. he hardly flinched! i was so proud of him!!! he was really good about everything. so brave!

triangle park with friends

we went to triangle park with alli, eli, and shepard yesterday. it was so much fun! the boys played so well together! no meltdowns or fights!! so alli and i got to have an actual adult conversation :)

and just because he is cute...

charlie caught another cold :( he is so stuffy. we had to put the swing in our room last night so that he was propped up. poor buddy!
